Late 1800s / early 1900s

This oval repousse box with a well-executed peony design on a hinged lid opens to a beveled mirror and case with three separate compartments covered by a single silver lid with a floral-form knop. The sides are incised with a continuing floral design and the base is impressed in the center with a Chinese character hallmark. The repousse on the lid is very well-worked against a fine punched background...

Antique Korean blue and white porcelain water dropper. The large body is rectangular with designs of scholar rock formations and a cherry blossom branch on its top surface in underglaze cobalt blue. Two small frogs serve as air holes adding a whimsical charm to the piece.

Antique Chinese porcelain bowl with footed lid, adorned with red dragons, geometric motif, and waves in enamel. Mark of Guangxu (1875-1908) and Period. Size: 3.5" height, 6" width

Antique Chinese pair of hardwood two-tiered stands, with sides carved of scroll ends and floral motifs. Each tier is inlaid with natural marble. Original finish hardwood with attractive, natural grain.

Antique Korean single section bedside chest, with "book matching" front panels of hardwood burl. Four drawers line the top of the chest with brass handles in motifs of lucky bats. The front of the chest features a pair of doors with incised brass plating.

Antique Japanese bronze hibachi decorated with dragons and chickens. The chickens have their wings spread as they give the illusion they are flying out of the body. The dragons walk across the body of the vessel. There are three small feet with incised scrolling designs. It measures 9" tall, 13" wide at the mouth, 18" wide from handle to handle. Meiji period, 1868-1912.

Antique Chinese long altar table, made from a beautiful dark hardwood, with a dark, blackish brown finish, interesting patina on the tabletop, carved panels on both legs of a chimera, head down with its tails curled upwards amongst other swirling designs. Pierced carvings of pointed spirals adorn the undersides of the table on either side of the legs. 19th century Size: 81" length, 13.5" depth, 34" height

Chinese porcelain figure of Li Tieguai, one of the Eight Immortals in Chinese culture or Taoism. He is temperamental but compassionate towards the sick and needy, who he heals using special medicine from the gourd he carries around his waist. He is shown here walking with a crutch, with a blue band around his head and gilt accented robes. Wonderful original Condition. Republic Period (circa 1930's). Size: 11" H, 5" W

These early 20th century Chinese carved ceramic turquoise (or robin’s egg) and gold seal boxes are around 1 3/4" high and 2 13/16" wide. One top depicts two women in a room; the other depicts a family in their garden. Peach trees, lucky bats and clouds are carved all over the bottoms. The honorific "Great Qing Dynasty Qian Long made" are stamped on the bottoms. Aside from some loss of gold pigment due to their age, they are in excellent condition.

A Gorham Set of a Sterling Silver Creamer and Covered Sugar with the Date Mark for 1911, and model number A3180. 17.3 Troy ounces in total. The Sugar is 5" high x 7" wide; the Creamer is 3.5" high x 6" wide, with a gold washed interior. Mint condition.

A traditional pair of Korean hand-carved wood clogs, or Namakshin. This type of footwear was originally introduced to Korea by shipwrecked Dutch sailors during the mid 1600s. Similar to the Japanese geta, Namakshin have two stilts beneath each shoe, designed to protect one's feet from muddy, wet ground.

A beautiful and exquisite Chinese painting, signed Tao Ran Yu, with red chop in corner. The painting is a foggy, snowy scene with an icy river flowing down its center. Snowy mountains loom in the distance, with a full moon peering through the fog. Many stalks of bamboo and blades of grass are covered in blueish ice. Flecks of mica have been incorporated to give the picture a shimmery appearance...

Unusual pair of Korean inlaid black lacquer ichung nong stacking chests on stands. The interior of each section is lined in original blue paper. The front Nong has a brass plate in the form of a butterfly with complete circle knob brass locks and key and brass butterfly hinges on each door. Each chest is detailed on top, front, and sides with highly intricate mother of pearl inlay scenes of fishermen on boats, beautiful women, deer, rabbits, travelers riding donkeys, and vast landscape scenes...

Antique Chinese large painting of the bodhisattva Quan Yin holding a willow branch, in long, flowing robes with cascading jewels, standing over lotuses. Red cartouche in bottom righthand corner. 18th/19th century . Size: 64" H x 27" W

Circa 1910-1920 British Hunting Silk Hat with Leather Box and Original Bottle of Cleaner and its mailing box. Custom leather box, lined with burgundy velvet, measures 13' by 12" by 8" with brass fittings and original key. Locking device works and all straps and closures intact. Some superficial nicks to the leather and roughness to leather around handle. Some neatsfoot oil would cover in these nicks. The silk top hat, made for the hunts, is black with inside diameter of 7.5 and 6.5"...

Chinese yellow soapstone scholar's seal. The stone is carved with scenes of sages and their attendant with landscape ground of mountains, pine trees, and bamboo. The reverse is also carved with a man seated at the edge of water, his finger pointing towards the mountains where a temple roof is partially unobscured. The seal on the base of the soapstone reads "a virtue should be praised".

A porcelain jar atteractively decorated in mid 18th Century style with polychrome "Famille rose" enamels. This item was made in China for exzport during either the late 19th or early 20th Century Condition: excellent - no damages and no restoration. 16.5cm (6.5 inches) high.
