A lovely Chinese export porcelain plate, the center decorated with a court scene depicting nobles welcoming a visitor bearing a staff and basket of fruit. The scene is very nicely enameled in the famille rose palette. The border is decorated in a trellis pattern in green enamels—a most unusual treatment for a Mandarin plate. The inner and outer borders are highlighted with gilding.

Large and unusual Japanese antique fish plate. Made to look as if one fish overlaps the other with raised details such as fins and eyes. The large white fish is further decorated with blossoming branches, butterflies and a small bird with gold details. The bottom fish is orange with blue fins and intricate scales painted in gold. Scrolling vines and peony flowers decorate the rim of the underside of the plate...

Antique Japanese Seto ware chawan (tea bowl) with horses. A raised horse gallops on the outside of the cup near a fence. On the inside bottom of the cup is another running horse. Both have a celadon crackle glaze. The cup shape has an undulating surface and is glazed a rich, mottled brown with yellow flecks...

This is a two colour wufu and coin motif peking glass snuff bottle. The colour of the bat is in light brown colour and the coin is green colour. Wufu means the five fortune. The chinese coin in general means "Tong Bao" or treasure. On both side of the coin, it is inscribed with the character "Tian Xia Tai Ping" which means peace to the world. Cir. late 19th century.

Japanese Bronze Shrine or Temple Bell with attached long rope, 19th century, 5" high, 4 1/2" wide for Bell only, pellet is inside and ring nicely, in original old condition.

Antique Korean Black Inkstone Box and Antique Inkstone. The poem on the lid is a beautiful work of calligraphy. It can be read in two directions as "Celebrated mountain object" and "Celebrated mountain extraordinary wisdom", meaning that this object will be used in the pursuit of wisdom. The inkstone has a banana leaf motif, referencing the 8th Century Chinese scholar and celebrated calligrapher, Huaisu who wrote on banana leaves when he ran out of paper. Chinese 19th-20th century pewter teapot decorated with Chinese inscriptions and flowers. Good conditions except the base possible has been restored. 18 cm high

A creamware plate with a pierced border of alternating piercing patterns and gilt sections. A gilt bird stands in the well of the plate. The decoration is out of character for English style of the period so I would guess that the plate is Continental and from around 1800. It is 7 ½ inches (19 cm) diameter. No marks on the back.

Condition: no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Some scratches and wear to the gilding.

Large antique furoshiki (Japanese wrapping cloth), aizome Japanese indigo dye decorated in sashiko stitches on four corners. 57 1/4" x 61 1/4"

A very fine Imperial Russian lacquer box by Vishniakov. The lid is decorated with a winter scene showing an empty troika, still tethered to its horse, located just outside a snow-covered log building. The scene is beautifully detailed. The interior is lacquered in the dark rust shade characteristic of Vishniakov.

A rare antique Japanese temple carving of a mythical sea turtle swimming among the rough ocean waves. Hand carved from one solid piece of Kuwanoki (Mulberry) wood, its three dimensional deep relief was carved on both sides. With large wisps of sea algae trailing on the back of its shell, the Kame (turtle) is a Japanese symbol of longevity signifying 10,000 years of long life. Fine detail and craftsmanship are evident especially in the claws, the scales and its head.
