A Large and Finely Carved Korean Bamboo Brush Pot-19th C.
Korean, Joseon dynasty, 19th century
A large cylindrical bamboo brush pot finely carved with old plum floral tree,
Bamboo, bats, crames, and cloudes, old patinated on the surfaces.
It’s in good condition except an extensive crack on the body.
Measures: 6 1/8” h. x 5 3/4” d. (15.3cm x 14.6cm)

These cups all have slightly flaring sides and are well-potted with thin rims. The sides are decorated with a repeating floral design in underglaze cobalt blue. The bases are glazed and the narrow footrings are unglazed, exposing the fine, white porcelain body. A hairline crack can be seen on the one of the cups, approximately one inch long, otherwise they are in good condition.

Features iron hardware including a large lock on the top drawer in the shape of a hawk with engraved feathers, kushi-gata handles (comb shape), lock bar securing two middle drawers, lockbox style hinged door with an iron medal engraved with the Japanese god Daikoku, and many other beautiful features. Included are a set of iron keys. Edo period (1615-1867)

The Size of Tea Pot: 6 1/2" Long x 5 1/2" Wide x 5 1/4" High. This very unusual Japanese Porcelain Tea Pot in Sometsuke (Blue and White). Tibetan Himalayan Match Striker, Coral and Turquoise natural stones set in the embossed and high relief decorated hard Silver and Brass borders on Yak Skin Leather, 3 5/8" high without ring, 6" wide steel striker. The heavy hard Silver top is also decorated with fine designs which shows the wear. Six metal buttons are studded on the back, surrounded with decorated Hard Silver borders. The leather inside is dyed light red color. The condition is good.
