Ancient mask of the traditional esoteric "Nuo" theater, representing the character of General Guanyu, wearing his helmet. Wood, with multiple superimposed polychrome pigments, meant to enhance the mask features, of which part is painted on paper glued to the mask. China, early 19th C. Height: 33 cm. 19th century wooden netsuke of a seated puppy. Wonderful piece with excellently captured facial expression and chunkiness of a young pup. Eyes are inlaid with bronze, rich dark hardwood, beautiful wear and patina. Tiny loss to 2 toes on its right hind foot, couple of nicks here and there. Height 1 5/16 inches.

Banded mochaware bowl in blue and brown. Very nicely formed, with a crisply shaped foot rim. The rim has one 1" hairline, and there is some discoloration to the interior (note that the discoloration visible near the rim is actually very thick bluish glaze, and not staining), but otherwise the bowl is in very good condition. 6-3/8" diam; 3-1/8" high.

A fine and unusual antique English drinking glass of Jacobite significance. The round funnel bowl is beautifully engraved with a rose, a bud to the right, a butterfly, and foliage. The stem is of the double series air twist type, quite uncommon because of the configuration of a pair of mercury corkscrews outside of a central cable. Conical foot with a rough snapped pontil. Fine example of Woodlands Indian beadwork, in the form of a Glengarry cap, with heavy beading depicting flowers, foliage and geometric lines, with additional sewn thread embroidery, on velvet backing, heavy cloth interior, ca 1850. A fine Victorian sterling silver sugar sifter with a medallion handle, possibly by George Sharp. Rather than the usual relief medallion, the handle features an applied medallion of considerable depth and detail looking straight forward. 19th century netsuke carved out of kurumi (natural walnut shell) with a reserve on the front showing a face of a tengu hatching from an egg. A rectagular bifacial stamp seal with a large handle in a black serpentine stone. The seal is carved with an impression of an animal in the handle as well as a larger depiction in the base of a deity standing on the back of a four-legged animal. Unidentified objects on either side of the deity, perhaps symbolizing weapons. Northern Mesopotamia, and probably later 2nd. millenium BC.
