American Brilliant Cut Glass Pitcher richly cut with deep vessicas, stars, and other embellishments. The bulbous body tapers to wide neck with scalloped rim. The attached heavily faceted handle has a flat top. The underside has 32 point star. The blank is very clear. Condition is superb. Marked Libbey on the handle top.
This pitcher is a superior example of brilliant cut glass in general but of hollow ware in particular.

A Large antique Korean faceted, ten sided, storage Jar with a matching lid. Such jars were a part of a Korean kitchen, and were used to store honey and molasses. The jar measures, with lid, about 9 3/4" high x 8 1/2" in diameter, and the mouth opening is 3 5/8" across. The lid appears to be original to the Jar. The Jar is in good condition. There are several chips on the underside of the lid, and around the mouth, and there is a 1/4" kiln crack on the mouth...

A very good fruit bouquet paperweight by the New England Glass Company. Four pears alternate with cherries and foliage around a central pear. The lampwork fruit is particularly nice in this weight. The bouquet is presented against a spiraling double latticinio basket. The dome is high and offers nice magnification. The crystal is a bit sugary, as is typical of many NEGC weights. The concave base has a wide basal ring.

Pair of early 19th century Japanese sword menuki depicting two dancers - a samurai with sword, and a merchant with fan. There is a nice detail for a netsuke lover - merchant is wearing an inro suspended by a gourd netsuke. Elegant design, superb detailing with gilding, in excellent condition. Fantastic example of Japanese metalwork. Height 1 1/8 inches.

A well forged, handsome mokume tsuba in mokko-gata form with katakiri-bori landscape decoration on both the omote and ura. The mokume grain is large and well controlled reminding one of ayasugi hada. In fact, this tsuba is indeed a tosho (swordsmith's) tsuba, being made by [Kai Ju] Kiyonaga and dated the third year of Bunkyo (1863) believed to be the same as KIY 298 referenced in Hawley's, Japanese Swordsmiths...

English, Bilston, 18th century, patch box. These memento boxes were popular at the end of the eighteenth century and frequently given as tokens of friendship and love. They were also purchased as souvenirs while traveling. They frequently started with the phrase “A trifle from...” as seen on this box. Usually oval in shape, but also circular and rectangular, their decoration reflected the popular styles of the day. However, this box is particularly unusual in its mention of Blockley...
This is a unique Chinese Trousse. The chopsticks are black wood, presumed to be Zitan and are totally enclosed inside the scabbard when the trousse is closed. Both the scabbard and knife handle are covered with tortoise shell and have silver fittings.
