A fine antique walnut corner cabinet with beautiful warm patina - though I suspect that it has been refinished somewhere along the road. Wood shelves; dentil molding; wood pegs still present; brass hinges, and closing clasps added. Double doors top and bottom. The feet have been cut somewhat. It has normal wear and tear of a piece of this age. The cabinet is at least 19th C, but may even be late 18th century...

This is an authentic example from the Qijia culture, dating to 2100-1600 BCE, of a well-known type of ritual axe, known as a "Yue." It measures 4" in length and 3-3/8" at its widest point (10cm X 8.5cm). The surface has a beautiful, smooth polish; the "blade" has a beveled edge and has been sharpened, although it shows no signs of actual use. The large hole has been conically drilled. A lovely intact bronze buddha Shakyamuni, Northern Thailand, Chiang Saen period, c. 15th century AD.

Seated on a lotus base over an openwork plinth, his right hand lowered in bhumisparsa mudra, wearing a closely clinging sanghati with a sash draped across the left shoulder, his face with a benign expression flanked by long pendulous earlobes.

A Chelsea ecuelle and cover, fulsomely painted with fancy and aquatic birds. Applied flowers and leaves decorate the bases of the twig handles, while the uncommon (but original) knop on the lid is a beautiful flower painted in three colors. The ecuelle's interior features a large convolvulus spray.

The condition of this gem is superb, with bright colors and no missing paint...

Massive and antique, Chinese Ming-style porcelain dragon dish: with writhing dragons centering an aubergine dragon; amid clouds to the interior and exterior on a bright yellow ground; with six-character mark. Size: Diameter of this fine dish is 20 inches. Condition Report: Good Condition.

Rare handmade askos of lenticular body and truncated conical neck.
The lip around the spout is shaped as an oversized disc. Its back was bent by the potter to create space for an unusual ring handle of square cross-section.
Decorated with orange and purplish black bands alternating with very thin fillets and diamond patterns. The front of the neck with chevrons, one of them spiky, both flanked by a branch or shrub...

A wonderful example of a pastel painting on sandpaper. The scene shows a man in 18th century garb, holding a fawn that his daughter is feeding. They stand on a dirt path lined with a wooden fence. Other deer are in the foreground and near the lake that occupies the mid-ground of this work. In the immediate background is a fantasy type building on a hill, with mountains in the background...

A trio of silver wired cloisonne red crowned cranes flies through goldstone clouds on the shoulder of this 4.5" emerald green basse-taille cloisonne vase. Splashing waves are incised in the silver body, the mark of Kumeno Teitaro is impressed on the base.

Condition: Quite fine, with no chips, hairlines or repairs.

Substantial 18K antique Victorian snake ring with clever open cutwork on the gold band as shown in the bottom layer, an interesting detail on this handsome snake ring. Snakes were a symbol of eternal love and friendship and were popularized by Queen Victoria during her reign in the 19th century. Set with 3 diamonds, each larger than the next, in a pointed carved etching at the top of the snake's head, our ring is hallmarked London and dates to 1895. The ring is a size 8 ½.
