Ancient Chinese small jade cloud form object. A carved coil of green jade with mottled orange opaque area. Likely a burial or ceremonial artifact. Hongshan culture was located in the Liao river basin in northeastern China.

Age: 4700 - 2900 B.C.

A pair joss-stick holders with Buddhist lions standing on a leave-shaped base and a single one with wooden stand. Made of biscuit porcelain and glazed in the "sancai" palette. Dating to the Kangxi period (1662-1722). Condition: the balls of the male lions are lost, both with small restorations, the bulging eyes of the beasts with glue residues, one lion with small flake on the tail. Dimension: pair height: c. 10.1 cm, single one: c. 15.5 cm high.

Description:

A bronze water basin was in square form.
Stand by four angle-shaped feet, the water basin was decorated on the upper portion with the geometric patterns.
On the underside, there'e ancient archaic characters being inscribed.
These archaic characters were Xiao Zhuan which were being used in Warring States of 481-221BC.
In Song dynasty, the connoisseurs admired the ancient cultures and would used the utensils which owned the archaic moods...

Antique 18th-19th Century North African Sephardic Jewish bronze Hanukkah Menorah lamp.

The Lamp is composed of three separately cast bronze elements, joined together by pegs and soldered at the back. The backplate is decorated in openwork with scrollwork motifs adorned with a notched pattern. Shamash flanked by a pair of birds, the top surmounted by a suspension ring with a fleur-de-lis finial...

War fan, gunbai uchiwa, made of bronze clad wood, in the shape of a butterfly. In low relief on front and back the text Hachiman Daibosatsu, surrounded by generic family crests in the shape of quinces. Hachiman is a war deity. These fans were traditionally handled by samurai commanders to direct his troops in battle. It is also a symbol of power. Japan, Meiji era, late 19th century.

Mask made of kiri (Paulownia) wood, showing the wide-laughing and dimpled face of god of good fortune (shichifukujin), Daikoku. The base of his hat just sitting on the top of his head.

The broad grain of the wood was used to accentuate the round cheeks, nose and nostrils. The wood was formerly stained with a reddish-brown color, now almost completely worn off...

Antique Chinese pair of porcelain candlesticks in the form of two European children. The two curly blonde haired babies sit, each with a peach in one hand and balancing a candle holder on top of their head with the other. Dressed in green and pink gowns. Painted with pink cheeks and cherub-like expressions.

Patented 1878 and marked with a T dating it from 1891-1902, this server by Tiffany & Co. is done in the "Olympian" pattern. The scene depicted on the handle is "Venus born of the sea." The bottom portion is gilded on both the front and back. The intricate work continues to the face on the back of the handle and it is monogrammed at the top (please see picture # 8). It measures approximately 11.25" long and 3" at its widest. It is in excellent condition, and the overall weight is 205.3 grams.

Sparrows in the wisteria trellis. Beautiful old calligraphy are also depicted. Painted with ink and pigments on paper. The artist is unknown. Circa 19th C.

Some insignificant light marks, traces of crease that has been restored on the back, and foxing are present on the painting, otherwise the painting is in very good condition for the age...

Antique Indo-Persian miniature painting depicting a hunting scene. A party of three men on horses gives chase to a herd of deer while two others stand by with spears. In the background a river wends it's way through hills covered in low trees and flowers. Painted in gauche colors. Framed.

An antique Japanese transom (Ranma) made of Hinoki (Cypress) wood. Hand carved image of a crouching tiger moving with stealth and grace in a bamboo forest. Pronounced wood grain adds depth and movement to the image.

In Japan, the Ranma was placed above the Fusuma doors to provide air circulation in both rooms that it shared...

An antique Japanese drawer Nagamochi Tansu (storage trunk) made of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. Unusual all drawer design with shallow upper trunk. All original lacquer finish with interior paper lining. Most likely used for the storage of large vertical textile banners used for advertising or Boy's day celebrations.

18th century netsuke of a recumbent cow and a calf who licks the face of its mother. Strong early carving excellently captured mood of the scene, superbly carved to the last detail, their hooves bent beneath their bodies, the cow wearing a halter with a length of rope lying across her back, eyes are inlaid with dark horn. Beautiful wear consistent with age, yellowing on the bottom where netsuke was touching the silk of kimono and picked up oil from the body of the owner...

Beautiful foliated small dish covered with white glaze. Unglaze base. Song Dynasty. 12 cm width. No chips, cracks, or hairlines and free from restorations.

Superb quality antique medieval 9th - 10th century A.D. Viking warrior spearhead. This beautifully and extremely well hand forged steel spearhead has a sturdy, tapered, diamond cross-section blade chiseled on both sides with two narrow fullers.

Ivory netsuke in the form of a small school table with a book and hat resting on the desk. The netsuke is finely carved, showing great attention to detail. The sides of the table are decorated with engraved geometric patterns, adding a touch of sophistication. Himotoshi under the base, signed Hideshige 秀重. It was hand-carved and shaped in bridge-type.
