Wonderful antique Japanese okimono of the mythical characters Ashinaga and Tenaga. The two friends live on the beach and survive on fish. Tenaga catches them with his long arms while sitting on the back of Ashinaga who wades out into the water with his long legs. Carved with great detail and whimsy out of boxwood. Meiji Period (1868-1912).

From the Southeastern US, a Salesman's Sample of Louvers to ventilate Tobacco Barns. A Great Folk Art Display, measures about 15 3/4" by 23" by 3". Brass knob is patented January 24, 1860. One louver is slightly detached and knob does not adjust louvers as it did originally. You probably will not see another.

This is an old Japanese silk obi. The style of the obi is called Chu-ya (day and night) obi – it’s made with two different fabrics sewn together. As the name suggests, two sides of the obi can be worn for totally different social functions. Both sides are absolutely beautiful on this obi.
The front side of this obi is subtle but quite tasteful...

This is a so called “a jingle-bell libation cup-vessel. It probably could have been
used for a ritual ceremony in Silla or Kaya periods.
This is an extremely rare Jingle cup with an inside pierced high ring foot,
cut and opened high footed stem like a pedestal bowl with natural ash and lead
glaze on the body...
A very nice moulded Wanli period (A.D.1573-1619) blue and white kraak porcelain dish. It stands on a very short footrim with a recess base and then everted upward into a U-shaped moulded dish. In the centre of the dish, it depicts a pair of deer under a tree with flowering foilage and rocks. On the cavetto, it is painted with a two tiered brush stroke. Such almost identical dish is illustrated in Maura Rinaldi, Kraak Porcelain, London, 1989...
