A pair of Imperial Russian Decanters from Moscow, priced for the pair, 1890s.

This glass covered jar was produced in Europe. It has the style of the 1870s period but we are not certain of the manufacturer. The jar is 5 3/4 inches in diameter and 3 1/4 inches high. The glass is hand blown with a swirl of opalescent color entwined with powder blue. You can feel the ribs in the glass with your fingers. There is a hand painted scene in silhouette of children watching a bird on the lid. It is quite charming, with good detail...

SOLD A Worcester mug with flared sides decorated in transfer printed underglaze blue of sprigs of natural flowers. Although it is unmarked the transfer on one side is identical to the one shown on the side of a Worcester marked jug shown in plate 282 of Godden’s Caughley and Worcester Porcelains 1775-1800. The transfers are well printed. 3 ¾ inches (9.5 cm) tall and a little more in diameter across the handle.

Condition: No chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Minor firing flaws...

Cotton cloth with katazome pattern which is called "Narumi-Kongata", imitating Arimatsu-Narumi shibori pattern. It is called "Urumi-zome among craftspeople. It uses plural stencils and requires high dyeing technique. In good condition but has two mending patches for the cut which used to be the neck part and in one side of selvedges. A marvelous and rare Victorian figural cigar cutter in the form of a champagne bottle. The bottle is carved of bone and has a silverplated top intended to represent the bottle’s foiled neck. The cutter is shaped as the bottle’s label and is engraved “Bollinger”—one of the most famous of champagnes during the Victorian era. The metal collar is stamped with English registry marks dating the cutter to 1883 and also with a design number...

Bronze dropper (suiteki) representing a chubby guardian lion, called komainu in Japanese or shishi in Chinese.

The komainu is inspired by the Chinese guardian lion shishi, which dates back to the Tang dynasty (581-618). Supposed to repel evil, it appears on both sides of the entrance to the doors or gates of shrines and temples.

The suiteki is a small container used to hold water that is added to the ink stone during the grinding of the ink stick, used for calligraphy...
