This porcelain charger was produced in France by Lazeyras, Rosenfeld & Lehman Limoges in the 1890s. It is titled on the back “Dictant Une Lettreâ€, Dictating a Letter, “after Harry Roseland". Harry Herman Roseland (c.1867-1950) was one of the most notable painters of the genre painting school around the turn of the 20th century. Refined Bronze Shan State Buddha, Burma. The bottom of this statue had uncut rubies and British/Burmese silver coins hidden in it's base. Back side/base shows some cracks, otherwise good condition, size: H. 16cm x W. 7cm x D. 4.5cm

19th century wooden netsuke of a sitting boy wearing a shishi mask that is too big for him and hitting a drum in front of him with a striker. These mask are usually used in shishimai dance, and the face of the boy can be seen inside the mask (see Enlargement 2, difficult to photograph). Nice dense shitan wood (Southeast Asian rosewood), beautifully carved, eyes of the mask are inlaid with copper. Superb wear and patina, large and deep himotoshi...

This is Tsumugi- silk kimono worn for the Meiji period. Brown lattice -Shima where this shines with gold is impressive. All silk thread is spun by hand and this is very beautiful. This does not have a stain and damage. The state is complete. Size 144cm x 132cm (56.6 "x 51.9")

A Magnificent Sterling Silver Center Bowl or Fruit Bowl by Theodore B. Starr in an Art Nouveau Pattern with a Gadroon Border on the Top Edge and the Base. There is a Monogram on the Underside. Dimensions; 9.25" in diameter x 3.75" high; weight, a substantial 27.7 Troy ounces. Circa 1900. Excellent condition.

Antique Chinese ruyi scepter carved of boxwood in a naturalistic representation of a lingzhi mushroom. Long and elegantly curved with smaller lingzhi sprouting from it's stem. Beautifully carved with great attention to detail and form. Ruyi scepters were used in Chinese Buddhist ceremonies and as symbols of good fortune, luxury and power.

Victorian Pietra Dura earrings of a butterfly, set in 9K gold. Pietra dura is a form of micro-mosaic made with pieces of hard stone such as agate, and cemented into black marble. It is also known as Florentine mosaic as Florence, Italy was the center of manufacture of these wonderful pieces. Red is a particularly rare color to find in Pietra dura. The earrings are set onto 14K ear wires.

18th / 19th century automatic phlegm, medical bloodletting tool, in its original case. It is said that George Washington had one like this in his First Aid Kit. Bloodletter measures overall length including blade 2", 1/2" wide and 1/8" height. The case measure approximately 2 7/8" long, 1 1/2" wide, and height 5/8".

Measuring 3.25 inches high by 3.75 inches in diameter, this lovely Victorian Barber Shop, mustache or shaving cup or mug remains in excellent condition but for the subtle wear to the gilt-edged rim.

The cup is embossed with swirls, dots and bows as well as decorated further with gold-drawn designs and 2 large, hand-painted pink roses with 1 smaller cream-colored rose. The cup base is scalloped and the fancy handle is gold-gilded.

Framed Japanese woodblock theater triptych, circa 1860. In good condition, it has not been examined out of frame, but the prints appear to be loosely attached. The 3 prints measure as seen, site size: 27.75 x 13.5 site, Frame measures: 32.5" x 18.25" . Please note this is shot through glass and there are some reflections, the prints do NOT have white spots or white streaks.

19th century kagamibuta (mirror lid) netsuke with Shibayama inlay depicting Daikoku’s mallet surrounded by 9 tama (Precious Gems). The bowl is dark rosewood, the top is boxwood with carved loop on the back for the cord, materials used for inlay are black horn, silver, jadeite, pink coral and 3 different kinds of mother of pearl. The inlay is in perfect shape, no losses or repairs. Plain back, two parts fit nicely, beautiful mellow patina...

A beautiful painted scholar's box painted with scholar's objects and floral arrangements. Size: H. 11.8cm W. 31.5 x 17.2cm. Condition: Normal ageing. The hinges in the back most likely have been replaced.

A Chinese hand painted porcelain miniature sleeve vase with bird scenes. Some minor wear to the enamels, otherwise condition very good, no chips, no cracks, no hairlines. Vase measures 3.5" high and dates circa 1880. A lovely piece to add to your collection.

Three English silver fiddle serving spoons, all three made in London. One is Georgian, the other two Victorian. Spoon with engraved N has year marks for 1841 and makers mark GA for George William Adams, engraved JJH 1842, makers mark RB for Richard Britton and AVW 1829, makers mark JH for Jonathan Hayne. Length "8 ¾ - 9/ 22.5 – 23 cm, weight altogether 213 grams. Condition: fine.
