Antique Japanese small cha tansu (tea chest). Made with chestnut wood frame and burled hardwood drawer fronts. Two slider panels and a drop in panel are covered with gold-leafed silk on wood. The center of the chest has a small display area with a staggered shelf and two small drawers. The lower portion of the chest has three small drawers and a full-width drawer on the bottom.

Japanese Kura samurai saddle in red lacquer, with black and gilt lacquer. The maewa (front arched plate) and shizuwa (rear arched plate) are adorned with a copper inlay flying crane. The red lacquer area surrounding the crane is hand-carved with scrolling vines of flowers and shippo pattern in gilt lacquer.
The maewa and shizuwa are connected by two igi (contoured side bands)...

Japanese tenmoku ware ceramic vessel with ribbed handle, short front spout, and wide open top. The thick oil slick glaze stops just short above the foot left in buff.
Tenmoku glaze is made with feldspar, limestone, and iron oxide. The more quickly a piece is cooled, the blacker the glaze will be.
Tenmokus are known for their variability. During their heating and cooling, several factors influence the formation of iron crystals within the glaze...
This is a solid silver plate with an engraved Islamic design from Egypt. The plate has a sloping scalloped rim and features an eight-point star called "Khatim Sulayman" in the center, formed by two overlapping squares.
The star's center is engraved with Arabic writing and surrounded by a band of eight cartouches with calligraphic Arabic characters...

Antique Himalayan ritual dagger, phurba, carved of bone with skulls, makara and nagas. Phurba usually have three sides while this one is unusual in that it has two. The purpose of the phurba is it's ritual use to subdue the powers of evil and transform them into positive forces. The various elements of the phurba are symbolic - the lower part (or blade) represents "Method" and the handle represents "Wisdom"...

This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in England around 1860. It has no maker's marks. The workmanship and quality are similar to that of Copeland. The saucer has a diameter of 5 5/8 inches and the cup is 2 3/4 inches high. The porcelain is fine, white bone china. The cup has a ring handle. The set is hand decorated with fruits and flowers hanging from ribbons. There are gilded medallions and raised gold beading. The rims and handle are trimmed with gold...
The metal bowl of this traditional old bronze Chinese spoon is heavily patinated from extensive use and was probably used for heating maybe opium.
A scarce 18th Century U-shaped bowl decorated with iron red and very finely painted "famille rose" enamels depicting the Bajixiang - the Eight Buddhist Treasures - between key-fret and ruyi bands. The base carries the six character seal mark of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795) and is of the period. Chinese Silver Smiling Boy, Ca. 1900, 10 1/2" high overall, 2 1/2" high x 1" wide, 5/8" deep for boy, with open mouth smiling and pig tail hair do, holding Peach with two(2) hands, both side same raised design with Silver chain, and two(2) Bells dangling with chain from his feet. It is a very charming and cute Chinese Silver ornament. The condition is good, tarnished silver.
