An unusual octagonal Chinese lacquer stacked box set painted with black ground and elaborate gold designs featuring prominently the warring dragons and pearl motif on the lid, also repeated stylistically on the sides. Cabriole legs support a sunken base which supports 2 trays and a lid. Overall condition is quite good but as you will see in one of the photos, there is paint loss on the legs to varying degrees, the one shown being the most egregious example. The compressed globular body supported by three conical feet, with a pair of loop handles rising from the rim. PERIOD: Ming Dynasty. MEASURES: Height from feet to handle 10 cm and diameter 2.5 cm. CONDITION: No chips, cracks or hairlines and free from restorations.

An exceptional and rare Italian cut and voided velvet panel, probably Genovese, done in a dark green on a beige foundation. The motif features mythological animals and urns, all surrounded by foliate scrolls.

The condition is quite fine, even for a textile 250 years younger. The length is 64 1/2", with a width of 10 1/2".

A superb piece for display or use as an accent, and should appeal to collectors and decorators.

Antique Kalinga basket for carrying and storing rice or vegatables made by the mountain people from northern Luzon, the largest island in the Philippine archipelago. This coil basket is perfectly symmetrical and has nice warm patina. The coil weaving technique, materials (finely split rattan and nito vine), and design are consistent with baskets made by the Kalinga tribe. This rare and very beautiful collectible basket is in excellent condition and measures 12” high and about 10" diameter.

A Reed & Barton sterling silver pillbox or dresser jar 1900-1910. This 1-5/8" across lidded jar is stamped STERLING M150 8 with the Reed and Barton silver mark and it weighs 16.8 grams. It has an ornate REB monogram, and the top extrudes slightly, possibly from being made to set in a travel case. The interior is lightly gilded. Little distorted half cylinder shaped (kutsugata) tea bowl made of light, coarse, unrefined Mino clay. The expertly thrown body is covered with the typical green copper oxide glaze inside and outside. A 'window' on the side has been left unglazed for decoration in iron oxide engobe under a clear ash glaze in a pattern squares and triangles. This is a typical late Momoyama design...

Two matching small Imari dishes with high quality applied decoration, including the "three gentlemen" at the center of each dish (pine, bamboo, and plum blossom). The dishes have a scalloped edge, and have a stylized Ching Dynasty, Yung Cheng, reign mark on the recessed base. Each dish measures about 5 1/2" in diameter x 1" high, and dates to the mid 19th Century. The condition is excellent/perfect. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.
