Late Meiji period (1890s to 1912) Japanese wooden kushi (hair comb) with lacquer decoration of chrysanthemum flowers with leaves and buds. Beautifully made out of dense wood allowing for fine teeth, excellent lacquer work, wonderful piece in Japanese taste, in great condition. Length 3.21 inches.
18th century Indian bronze chhappa (a tantric ritual stamp), its base leaving an imprint of a peacock feather. The chhappas were used during tantric temple ceremonies to stamp the proscribed parts of the body such as the forehead, cheeks, shoulders, forearms and stomach with a paste of white (for Vaishnavites) or red (for Shaivites) sandalwood. The marks on the body provide a visual display of the adherent’s devotion and transfer the beneficence of the deity to the wearer...

A fine repousse sterling celluloid chatelaine comb circa 1890s with a celluloid comb. This 2-3/8 x 5/8" accessory has the original suspension loop, and it is stamped F&B 115 STERLING. Outstanding sterling silver master salt spoon in a rococo pattern by Gorham. I have not been able to put a name to this assymetrical pattern, although it is very similar to "Marie Antoinette" and "Dresden". The bowl is parcel gilt. The reverse is marked with Gorham's old hallmark.

A scarce early American pressed or pattern glass 8-3/8" tall covered footed sugar bowl in the Daisy and Button with Thumbprint Panel pattern, issued by Adams and U.S. Glass of Pittsburgh c1890.
