This axe is an example of the ‘duck-bill’ type, so-called because of its likeness to a duckbill, with its elongated blade with a central ridge and two large oval holes...

An underglaze blue decorated porcelain coffee cup, painted with flowers and butterflies. This item was made in Jingdezhen, China, for export to Europe, during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor (1736-1795). Condition: excellent - no damages and no restoration. 5.5cm (2.2inches0 high; 6.5cm (2.5inches) diameter.

A rare Song - Yuan dynasty longquan celadon large two fish plate, good condition with hairline at the rim please see picture for detail size: 21.5 cm diameter.

Slightly distorted cylinder shaped (hanzutsu) tea bowl made of light, fine, unrefined Mino clay.

Shape and style make it appear contemporary with the late Oribe bowls. The expertly thrown body is covered with the typical black oniita engobe inside and outside - with the exception of the bottom - over which a white, feldspatic Shino glaze has been poured...

Antique Chinese hanging scroll of a "Courtesan Playing the Flute" signed Qiu Ying. This painting is of two courtesans waiting to entertain the emperor. The emperor would be seated in front of a screen of dragons. The empress would be seated in front of a scene with phoenixes. The courtesan on the right plays the flute while the courtesan on the left holds a fan. The skill of Qui Ying can be seen in the rendering of the sheer quality of the fan, the courtesan's sleeve is visible behind it...

Antique Japanese unusual Butsudan (Shrine), made from solid Keyaki Hardwood. Interesting lattice style sliding carved doors with glass, gorgeous burl Keyaki panels, four drawers, and a unique pull-out shelf that stores away unnoticed. Great original condition and finish. Late Meiji period (1868-1912). Size: 68" H, 35" W, 22" D

Antique Chinese cabinet made from lustrous elm wood, with three drawers running along its top and two doors opening to a roomy, shelved interior. Very solid and original piece.

A water dropper, decorated with splashed iron brown spots and a Qingbai ( Yingqing ) glaze over a porcelain body. The flat base unglazed. Yuan Dynasty 1279 - 1368. Diameter : 6,2 cm. H : 5,4 cm. Condition : Perfect ! ( It is nearly impossible to find an ewer or an water dropper of the Yuan Dynasty, on that the spout is not broken or restored. This water dropper is in perfect condition ! )

A well potted dish with abstract floral decoration in underglaze cobalt blue. Ming Dynasty, Swatow ware, sixteenth century. Diameter :16,7 cm. Condition : Perfect.

Japanese antique two section large choba tansu (merchant's chest) from the Kansai area, made with hinoki (Japanese cypress wood) with a beautiful natural finish. The top section has sliding panels made with keyaki burl (elm) and 4 drawers. The bottom section has 3 large drawers and another set of sliding panels with horizontal slats. The lower right hand side has a small drawer below which is a safe box with two interior drawers. The hardware is iron with warabite shaped handles...

Antique Japanese choba tansu (merchant's chest) with interesting features such as semi circle corner hardware, cross plating over sliding doors, squared locks, and mokko (melon) style handles.
