An unusual unmarked (but tested) Egyptian sterling salt spoon with a dhow and palm tree niello enamel scene on the handle. Niello is a process where black enamel is applied and fired onto a hollowed out scene. This 2-1/2" spoon is in excellent original condition with no scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a small spot of surface tarnish in the bowl which can be easily buffed or polished out...

A Chinese seal, reddish-brown soapstone, all around with engraved little landscapes and a coiling snake on top. Chinese probably auspicious characters to one side. The name of the owner, Bettina, is carved both in Chinese and Latin lettering. Height "3 1/3/ 8.5 cm. Condition: fine.

Fine and rare early example of a Jomon Period Dogu Clay Figure, the earliest known Japanese figures. The Dogu acted as effigies of people. They manifested some kind of sympathetic magic. For example, it may have been believed that illnesses could be transferred into the Dogu, and then destroyed, clearing the illness, or any other misfortune. This is a set of six Schumann Dresden style flower hand painted and transfer plates with reticulation, several faintly marked with the 1900 era mark of a Japanese copy, and lavishly decorated with courting scenes and flowers. Condition: excellent. Measurement: 6"dia.

Barely used, this baby head cover was once attached to the upper part of a baby carrier so that it could be raised around the baby's head to protect it from the hot sun during a festival. Hand batiked with hand embroidered details, the border is decorated with rows of the tiniest hand stitching. measures 13.5 x 14.5 inches

A tanged 'Luristan' bronze dagger from Ancient Near East, Caspian Sea Area, Bronze age, dating to 2nd mill BC.

The dagger with rounded shoulders, a short tang and central midrib. The top of the blade has two holes for fastening rivets.

Length: c. 26,5 cm.

Condition: Fine green patina with some roughness to the edges. The blade has a bend at the the tip, as seen on pictures.

Large and rare two-coloured and two-sided Egyptian faience Wedjat Eye.
The Wedjat Eye is open-worked, the two-coloured side is convex and the other flat.
There is an old collection label on the wooden stand, which is inscribed with PE 40.

Japanese small and exquisite Satsuma ware censer, unusual double gourd shape with two handles and three feet, lid with delightful fu-dog finial, one side is decorated with two scenes from 100 Rakans (Buddhist saints), the other side is decorated with two scenes of beautiful ladies, everything else is covered with tiny designs in gold, beautiful condition, Taisho Period, 6 character kanji says: Satsuma yaki, Suigetsu ga. (trans: Satsuma Ware painted by Suigetsu). Size: 5" high

Lovely antique Japanese large rectangular tray with a scene of a woman gazing at the moon (inlaid mother of pearl), she is sitting near a small stream with flowers and grasses, misty clouds above, the tray is made of kiri wood and the decoration is made of beautiful cherry wood bark, outer sides are also covered in cherry bark, Taisho Period. Size: 24 3/4" long x 15 1/4" wide x 3 1/2" deep.

A good Arita dish in shurogata hemp palm form decorated with kuri, chestnuts, in a somenishikide palette of underglaze cobalt blue with gilt outlined enamels. Dishes with this pattern were copied at the Derby factory in England in the 1770’s, and moulds of this form were used by the Kakiemon kiln in Nangawara during the period 1750-80. 17th Century Tibetan Green Tara Thangka, 49.5 x 29.5 inches, 126 x 75 cm. Most of these thangka were photographed through glass frames, so there may be a little blurriness. This thankga was in an exhibition at the University of Texas Art Museum.

Only one of a kind! Distorted half cylinder shaped (near kutsugata) tea bowl made of light, coarse unrefined Mino clay. It dates from the Momoyama Period.

The expertly thrown body is covered with the typical feldspatic shino glaze inside and outside, with the exception of the bottom' the roughly cut foot ring. A very minor iron oxide content of the clay has changed the white shino glaze to light pink (beni). This is absolutely rare...
