An Arita long dish of sampan form somewhat deeper and narrower than usually found. Painted with an idealised Chinese style landscape incorporating the elements of water and land. The cavetto painted with stylised lotus flowers enmeshed within a Hagi-karakusa, Bush clover vine arabesque. Gobenka with karakusa motifs to the sides of the dish, and a similar auspicious Lozenge (one of the Eight Precious objects) with karakusa at each end...

Painted in famille verte enamels, one side showing a woman in a scholar’s studio, and the other side showing a child and a seated woman. On the long narrow sides are scenes of a woman gazing out a window into a garden. The scenes are bordered on the sides by a diamond lozenge pattern as if it were the brocade framing a hanging scroll. The smaller narrow sides have a pierced double coin design surrounded by flowering branches...

A Rare Early American Coin Silver Footed Dish (probably for Candy) Made by Albert Coles, Prominent NY City Silversmith who worked from 1836-1880 (died in 1886). Dimensions; 5" wide (9.25" to handles) x 2.5" high; weight 5.5 Troy ounces. Gold washed interior. Circa 1840's. Excellent condition.

Chinese Ming dynasty swatow polychrome dish decorated with Islamic or Arabic inscriptions. 24,7 cm diameter. Good condition except two small fritting at the rim. No additional colour or repair.

Chinese carved jadite pitcher with dragon handle and loose ring under spout, very thinly carved of a beautiful translucent pale green color jadite, scrolling motif along the edge, each side is carved with a dragon in low relief, Republic Period. Size: 5" long

Jade carving of a bat spreading its wings on one side and on another side a coin shaped motif. Bats are considered to be an auspicious animal where the name is synonymous to fortune in Chinese. The coin contains a four character engraving possibly reading: Fu Shou Quan Shuang, or roughly translated as having both fortune and longevity. Guangxu sealmark and period, 1874-1908

This orange-brown pottery brush pot, possibly produced at the Yixing Kilns, is hand-sculpted to simulate an old gnarled tree trunk with various crevices, stumps of limbs and peeling bark. It is incised with two Chinese characters, one in archaistic style, the other in cursive script. On the base, there is an impressed Guangxu sealmark. Though unglazed, it has an old patina from use and possibly remnants of colorless lacquer...

This is a 19th century Japanese imitation of a Chinese cloisonne bowl. It has a white background and fish, horse and floral design on both the exterior and interior. There is a square brass seal reading ¡°imitate Ming¡± on the bottom. In this case, ¡°Ming¡± is a general name for Chinese or Mandarin. It is 10 inches in diameter and 4 ¾ inches tall. Good condition.

A very nice graviata ground ( incised ) enameled porcelain dish. Qianlong mark ( 1735 - 1796 ) and of the period. Diameter : 26,1 cm. Condition : Perfect ( no crack, no chip with a nice sound when tapped )

Japanese antique tsuba (hand guard for a samurai sword), cast all of iron. The motif appears to be a combination of two kamon (family crests); one being the inside part of a mokko crest and the other the swirling comma shaped arms of a tomoe or mitsudomoe (Shinto) mon. The resulting design is an open work of elegant lines. Edo Period. Size: 3 1/8" wide diameter

Lovely Chinese jade rectangular plaque, well-carved with a flying dragon chasing his flaming jewel, with a pierced hole for hanging, the reverse reads "Xiang Long Cheng Chang" in a rectangular cartouche, the color is a pale celadon tan with a russet trace, size: 2.5" High

Tombo Eboshi-Nari Okegawa Do Gushoku, a rare and wonderful Japanese antique suit of armor: Eboshi helmet (represents one who has attained manhood distinguished by an Original dragonfly (tombo meadate) carved of wood and lacquered gold. This rare, lovely dish was excavated in Kalimantan together with the superb double Poenix dish # 1071102 also offered in our gallery. A quite small dish with a very attractive deep molded floral decoration, covered with a intensive green Sancai glaze. Late Yuan Dynasty, Quanzhou Kiln of Fujian Province. Diameter : 10,6 cm. Condition : Some small negigible glaze imperfection, no crack, no chip.

Rare Japanese gusoku bitsu (carrying box for samurai armor). Made of kiri (paulownia) wood and lacquered red and black. Unusual curved form. Leather shoulder straps for carrying. Iron hardware. Top lifts off. Decorated with the mon (crest) of the Oyamada Samurai clan. Edo Period (circa 1800's) Size: 28" high x 15" wide x 16 1/2" deep.

An exquisite and exceptionally rare 19th century monochromatic transparent ruby red enamel over solid gold vase with the impressed seal of Namikawa Sosuke. Sosuke did very few transparent enamel vases; there is an example in the Khalili Collection done in purple on a silver body with silver mounts, it lacks the brilliance of this vase. Height: 7.5625"

A good Song dynasty longquan celadon alms bowl with cover, rounded side with wide rim and deep center, bowl decorated with carved raising petal motif at the exterior, cover with carving flower motif, porcelains good ping sound with finger tip.
Bowl is in good condition no chip, no crack, no restoration, cover has slightly different color tone.

These tall, slender offering jars with lids are well-potted and molded with dignitaries, dragons and horses, and covered with a thin bluish-toned clear glaze. The bluish areas are apparent where the glaze has pooled around the molded figures. The lids are likewise glazed and finished with a simple stylized swirl of clay. Antique Japanese tsuba (hand guard for a samurai sword), made all of iron and cast in the form of a daikon raddish. The leafy tops of the daikon are highly raised and the raddish root itself twists around becoming the circular rounded edge of the tsuba. Wonderful three dimensional quality. Edo Period. One of a collection of three fantastic and rare, large Edo Period Iki masks, de-accessioned from the Musée Archéologique in Strasbourg, France during the mid-20th Century. These three are rare for their large size. They have never before been offered on the art market. The other two masks are posted on this site. Carved Poloma wood with gofun (oyster shell lacquer), glass eyes and human hair. 7.5 inches (19 cm) high x 7 inches (18 cm) wide.
