19th century Chinese rootwood carving of an ascetic dancing on the back of a turtle. The figure depicted is that of lohan Lu Ao who lived on the back oh a large turtle for 3 thousand years. Very clever piece beautifully capturing the happy attitude of the advanced being, graceful flow to the natural lines of the root defining his clothes, natural bumps on the surface perfectly imitating torn clothes. Beautiful mellow patina, very pleasant feel of age to the piece...

A 16th century Yoshiro Zogan tsuba. The type is named for a Kaga province artist considered to have advanced the late Onin period brass inlay art to that of hira-zogan - flush with the iron surface. The school also took hold in other provinces, most notably Bizen. The mokko-gata form of this tsuba would appear to be uncommon for Yoshiro Zogan tsuba particularly of katana size. This nicely carved jade (jadeite) pendant is 2 ½” long, 1 ½” wide and ¼” thick. It is a late 19th or early 20th century product. It is carved on both sides as a twisted RuYi (如意) scepter with LingZhi (靈芝) ends surrounded by a small unknown plant. A small lucky bat is sitting on top of the carving. It is in great condition.

19th century small Chinese soapstone seal of classic square section carved with 2 sunken characters. Third catalogue photo includes the image of the printing surface flipped left to right to show what the imprint of the seal will look like. Beautiful butterscotch stone with rich depth of color, inscribed with several characters on the side, old dried red seal paste in the grooves. Overall in great condition, nice scholar’s object. Height 3/4 inches, base 1/2 x 3/8 square.

This is a Japanese antique textile indigo dye cotton narumi-Shibori kimono meiji period.
This is a very rare and beautiful item created using 11 different Narumi Shibori techniques. Hand-spun cotton fabric is very thick. There are some very small stains, but they are not noticeable. Condition is good with no damage.

17th Century Tibetan Padmasambhava Thangka, 24.25 x 18 inches, 61.5 x 45.5 cm. Most of these thangka were photographed through glass frames, so there may be a little blurriness. This thankga was in an exhibition at the University of Texas Art Museum.

Small Chinese teapot of globular shape, with modelled spout. Gilt scrollwork and enameled decoration in Famille rose colours of roses and other flowers, all in European, Meissen style. Qianlong period, c 1760. No lid. Width "6¾/ 17 cm, height "3¾/ 9,5 cm. Condition: small nicks around the spout and a hairline just above the foot-rim, as shown on photos.
