Elegant shape, well-designed flowers, harmonious colors. Classic model typical of this period. Chinese Tang dynasty or Five dynasties figure of bird whistle. good conditions except glaze erosion because this item found from under water. 7 cm wide.

This leaf shape Chinese late 19th century export Canton blue and white dish is 7 ½” long, 5 ½” at its widest part and 1 ¼” high. It depicts buildings, trees and rock along with a lake (or river). One man holds an umbrella crossing a bridge while another man is paddling a small boat near by. It is in excellent condition.

A large flat bottom blue and white porcelain washer from Qing Dynasty. Over all good condition with a very tiny chip at the inside edge of the rim, and a few minor kiln flaws on the glaze. Diameter: 9-5/8"; height: 3". Provenance: from the Collection of C. Philip Cardeiro .

This shallow bowl-form dish is decorated with a peony growing from a rocky ground in underglaze cobalt blue. It is set on a high foot--characteristic of classic Nabeshima dishes. The foot is painted with the so-called comb tooth pattern often seen on dishes of this sort. It is glazed overall in an even, clear glaze that takes on a very slight, pale celadon tinge on the exterior. The base is glazed and the fine paste is exposed on the footring...

Unusual porcelain bowl in the shape of a double gourd with two separate compartments. The large section is for washing brushes; the small section may be used as a brush holder.
The outside of the large bowl is decorated in underglaze blue with pavilions in a landscape with mountains and a river. The edge is faceted and painted with cloud-like shapes. The outside of the smaller extension is decorated with stylized flowers. Ribbed knob on top (19-petaled chrysanthemum)...

Miyako-jofu woman's kimono with fine kasuri which is hand-woven of choma (ramie) and dyed with Ryukyu-ai. Wefts and warps are hand plied. Miyako-jofu has been woven in Miyako Island in Okinawa since 14th century. It was called "Satsuma-jofu" in Edo period as the island belonged to Satsuma feudal domain. It was imposed as tax. It is time-consuming process of thread making, thread plying, weaving as matching wefts and warps kasuri pattern...

Vietnamese blue and white jar. 14th-15th century. Good conditions, except few 1 cm hairlines at the rim. No chips or repair. 10 cm diameter. 6 cm high.

A set of five Chinese export silver serving pieces with beautiful pierced bamboo design. Each flatware with French import mark of a swan. Condition: traces of usage. The trowel's handle probably with a restaured area. Dimension: largest piece: c. 20.2 cm long and 6.6 cm wide. Total weight: 222 g.

Tenuki is depicted standing, his head covered by his huge scrotum. It is carved in a wood that seems to me to be cherry. The sculpture is simple and vigorous. The netsuké is ideally compact in shape. The patina of the wood is very old and beautiful. There is a 2 characters signature which I have not translated but can do on request. It is probably a well-known artist. I think beginning of 19°, but maybe before. Height: 55mm Very worn.
