Japanese Edo Period carved wooden mini KANNON and attendants. The carved and painted KANNON, attendants (8) and hillside are beautifully done with great detail and expression. The hillside measures 9 1/2" tall, 9" wide and 7" deep. There are suppose to be 12 attendants but only 8 remain.

This is a brightly decorated and colourful famille rose medium size bowl. On top of the bowl, the rim is surround by a series of small blue colour enamelled ruyi head. At the bottom, it is surrounded by upright blue colour lappets in rectangular design. In between the ruyi head and the lappets, is alternating blooming lotus flower and green colour lotus seed pod surrounded by meandering and branching foliage. A very beautiful green funerary vase potted from earthenware. It is slightly heavy as there is earth harden on the inside of the vase, due to the long period of burial. The center part of the body appears to be molded in two parts and probably lute together by a clay liquid slip that acted like glue. A very thinly potted small blue and white Ming dynasty saucer. It is so thinly potted that if held against the light, we can see through it. The centre of the saucer has a flower that looks like a lotus pod in a double circle. The porcelain is slightly grayish in colour. It has the Cheng Hua (1465-1487) six character mark and of the period.

There are minor firing faults with frittings and chips along the rim and base. No hair line crack. Generally in good condition.

A large and beautifully potted blue and white ginger jar. It is a scene of a dragon and phoenix chasing after the "Pearl of Fire" between heaven above and the sea below. An extremely beautiful and a museum quality Han dynasty ear cup. This is a rare and an unusual and exceptionally big ear cup, make of red pottery. Such big ear cup with design motives is rarely seen and in such good condition. This piece was discovered from the sea. This accounts for the loss in the green glossy glaze, but a more mat green and whitish colour on the ear cup. It has both patterns and line motive design like clouds on the side and the base of the cup.

A Han Dynasty terra cotta horse head with a very animated expression. There are some traces of red pigmentation on the straps of the horse head.

The horse head has abrasion , wear and tear due to the long period of burial. Otherwise it is in good condition.

Japanese late 18th century white IMARI figure of a gentleman. Formed by hand and made of white porcelain with a clear glaze. The gentleman is dressed in formal kimono and is carrying a fan. Done with wonderful expression and in very nice detail. The piece has some natural flaws in the clay and glaze, such as stress cracks and glazing flaws. The figure stands 17 1/2" tall, is 6 1/2" wide and is 5" deep.

Japanese early 20th century bronze art deco bamboo and sparrow vase. Signed by artist, KOMIN. The bamboo and sparrow are done in high relief. Beautifully made with a oxidized "blue" bronze finish. The vase measures 11" tall and 3 3/8" in diameter at the widest.
