Genuine antique Shan lacquer box circa late 19thCE. Most Burmese lacquer being offered on the internet purported to be antique are vintage at best and new at worst. I acquired this in Yunnan, China along the Burmese border but of Shan (nationality in China). Although there is some damage the craftsmanship is exquisite which is why I put a grain of sand in a couple of the images to put the work into perspective...

Nice old Tibetan or Baotou saddle carpet, with floral medallions and scroll pattern. There are some repairs and restorations which I have highlighted in enlargement two. This Indonesian container would have been carried by a man using the handmade string as a shoulder strap. The "purse" was hand carved out of a local hardwood and both the top and bottom have decorative details.

19th century Chinese rock crystal seal in a shape of a tall and narrow mountain peak characteristic of Southern China. Very beautiful stone with few natural cloudy areas by the bottom, excellent quality carving of 4 sunken characters on the bottom, very fine polish to the surface. Traces of red seal paste in the grooves, imprint of the seal is shown on Enlargement 1. Several tiny nicks to edges as to be expected on an old piece. Very good object for scholar’s table. A nice Nyonya bowl with butterflies and floral design.
Nyonya wares are over-glaze polychrome enamelled porcelains made in Jingdezhen in the Kiangsi province of China for the Straits Chinese, or Babas, whose female counterparts are called Nyonyas, hence the term Nyonya ware. Nyonya wares were mainly reserved for festive occasions and special functions. Size: W.13cm. H. 5cm. Condition: No repairs. Some wear and ageing.

The blade with slim shoulders and central midrib. The sharp edges of the blade slope into a long, folded conical socket with an opening at the back and a straight.

This antique toggle was sourced from China. I suspect that was originally from Tibet. The carved circular markings on bottom of 2 of the sides of the toggle are more typical of the ethnic minorities.
Toggle is almost 2 inches long and .5 inches x .5 inches.
An interesting pair of ancient Greek wheel-made pottery lamps in orange clay, dating to 4th-1st cent AD.
Both lamps with a central, conical tube. The concave rim turned inwards and rounded short nozzles with large wick holes. Old collection tags on both pieces

Song Dynasty green crackled Celadon bowl with a nice shape. There are certain imperfections which mostly appear to be occurrences at time of firing. On the inside of bowl, there is a pock mark / rupture that appears to have occurred at some point when perhaps a stone in the clay was compromised and broken out through the glaze. Dimensions: height 2.75 inches, diameter 5.50 inches.
During the Qing dynasty, carved wood blocks were used to produce the ancestor portraits which decorated the homes of many Chinese families. The Chinese translation of the term "ancestor Portraits" can be misleading to Westerners. These were not portraits of the particular family's ancestors. They were portraits of various Chinese officials, emperor, empress, etc. for whom the family wished to show respect and or allegiance.

Though sourced from northern China, this antique powder flask is most likely Chinese ethnic minority from the southern regions. There are 3 flasks for carrying gun powder. Used rifle cartridges are used both as stoppers and bullets are held in the shaped spacers between the powder flasks. It was made by shaping and then sewing 2 pieces of heavy leather (probably elephant hide)together.
This is an attractive bronze spear dating to circa 300 BC. It is a Dong Son Culture piece. There is some pitting to the bronze but the metal appears solid and stable with no signs of repair. It measures 240mm and weighs 142 grams.
