Tatou-gami made of recycled old washi (Japanese handmade paper) with kakishibu (persimmon tannin) for waterproof. Tatougami is used for wrapping kimono, precious items and so
on. This was used for wrapping old books. It has four cords made of washi too. The second half of the 19th century. In good condition. 62cm x 67.5cm when it is flat.
Tibetan Repousee raised Silver on Burlwood Tea Bowl, Tsampa Tea Bowl, Ca. early 1900, 4 3/8" diameter-top rim, 2 5/8" high, 2 1/2" diameter-bottom rim, smooth silver lining over the top of the Burlwood rim, raised intricate hand hammered design on the side, continue on with intricate silver work over the high raised foot, and cover the entire sunken bottom with large Silver Conch Shell. Wonderful antique Japanese tea ceremony tray to serve sweets. Meiji Period c.1890 made of persimmons wood with rich patina and undulating edges. Inscripted on the tray in flowing japanese characters are the kanji reading 'sei ogi-zo' meaning realized sage and the maker's signature which we can't read. Excellent condition. c.1890. Antique Chinese long altar table, made from a beautiful dark hardwood, with a dark, blackish brown finish, interesting patina on the tabletop, carved panels on both legs of a chimera, head down with its tails curled upwards amongst other swirling designs. Very rare antique Chinese 17th century,Ming dynasty, small hand warmer with cover signed by Zhang Mingqi (張鳴崎). Made of copper alloy in the oval cushion form, set with a conforming swing handle, the slightly domed cover cast is finely hand pierced with an intricate pattern(trelliswork) with a surface patinated to a warm honey-brown tone.
The flat base is incised with the maker's mark, Zhang Mingqi, in Zhuanshu script as a square seal...

This is a Northern Song dynasty small russet black glazed henan splash bowl. It stand on a short recessed footrim and then the body everted upwards into a U-shaped with the mouth rim slightly everted inwards. The body of the small bowl is sturdily potted with a few splashed in the centre of the bowl and strips on the cavetto. On the outside body of the bowl, it has strips running from the top to bottom...

This is a Fusube-kawa (Smoked leather) wallet from the Edo period(1800-1867). Fusube-kawa is a leather that smokes the ground black with the smoke of pine needles and leaves a white pattern. The pattern is expressed by collecting samples of Fusube-kawa type dyeing. It is a valuable item to know a part of Fusube-kawa crafts in the Edo period. She is seated on her throne resting her feet on an integral plinth, wearing a tripartite wig fronted by a uraeus, crowned by the throne hieroglyph.

This is a large antique fukusa, Japanese gift cover, 34 inches long and 26 inches wide, without including the tassels. The lid of the wooden box (hiro buta) that carried gifts was often placed upside down to display the gifts. The length of the Fukusa may have been adjusted for the tray.
