This middle or late 19th century snuff bottle has a white background and is hand painted in copper red and cobalt blue with an old sage and his servant. It is 3 inches tall and 1½ inches wide. The cap and spoon are replacements (not in the picture). It is in good condition.

19th century netsuke carved as a theatrical mask of Bishamon - one of the 7 Gods of Good Fortune. He is a God of riches, an equivalent of Vaishravana, and thus is the protector of the Northern direction. Wonderful face with a touch of madness, made in saishiki technique - the wood is covered with gesso, which in turn is painted in bright colors, some of them in low relief layers. Very well carved and painted, obvious losses to paint, wonderful feel of age. Height 1 9/16 inches.

Netsuké carved in stag antler or deer horn,very simple but compact in shape and with a very nice patina. Very pleasant to hold in the palm of the hand. It represents a Chinese child lying on a drum. For the Chinese New Year the children drummed to cast out demons. Probably our little boy is resting on his drum after having accomplished his mission?

A collection of 10 Buddhist and Bon ritual cards tsakli) painted with colors on paper from different sets, of which the most interesting and rare depicts a Wrathful Protector, 3 Vinaya cards and a Yogi belonging to the Bonpo school, and 5 Buddhist tsakli with ritual objects. Most of the cards have long inscription on the back side.

Statue of Maitreya, the Buddha of the Future, in monk's robes, sitting on a lotus throne, with a small stupa in his headdress, his hands holding a vase. The statue is made of copper, with a fine age patina. Tibet, 19th century. Height: 8.8 cm. Very good condition.
