This round, lidded container is very-well painted on the top of the lid in “fen sai” enamels with a scene of a religious figure surrounded by four children in an open landscape. The side of the lid as well as the side of the bottom half of the box are enameled with floral designs. The container sits on a slightly raised footring revealing the very white porcelain paste. Elaborate Roman silver ring, 1st.-3rd. cent. AD.

The ring is moulded with a large female bust on the top. She is either a deity or a high-born lady, with a tall draped hairdress and diadem.

Size: about 25 mm. wide. 9.60 grams. The ring-size is c. 19 mm.

Condition: Nice Very fine and intact. stable and Wearable. The surface with corrosion and brown deposits.

Heavily distorted shoe shaped (kutsu) Kuro Oribe Chawan from the mid 19th century (late Edo) with a strongly flaring mouth made of light, coarse, unrefined Mino clay. The expertly thrown body was trimmed with a potters knife in its lower part and covered with a very deep black iron oxide glaze inside and outside.

A window has been left unglazed and shows a typical Momoyama era design...

A very unusual basket made of pine cones bound together on edge enclosed in the original wooden box dated New Years of Showa Six (1931) titled Chiyo no Matsukasa (Cones of the Ancient Pine). The basket is 20 cm (8 inches) diameter, 33.5 cm (13-1/4 inches) tall and comes with the original bamboo insert. It is in overall fine condition. I have never seen another like it.

Another lovely and very old bronze weight, Mon duck type, 1636-1700 AD.

Weight: 79,67 grams = 5 Tical.

The bird without beak appendages and sort of 'sleeping', octagonal base with concenthric lines and verification mark of 4-rayed star at the side of base. Added mass.

Condition: Nice Very Fine for type, dark green patina with earthern encrustations!.
