The mane of long and pointed hair strands, the bushy tail held straight up, and engraved sunbursts suggesting hair tufts. Variably patinated, in some areas darker than others. Antique Japanese mounted carving of a group of 6 flying bats. Sculpted with detail and lacquered gold, the group moves together through the air like a small cloud. Mounted and framed in a plexiglass shadow box. Bats are symbols of prosperity and good luck. This carving was most likely part of a larger temple decoration.

A fine lot of 5 stone stamp seals of the hemispheric or button-shape in different kind of stones incl. serpentine and chlorite, North/west Mespotamian 5th.-4th. millenium BC.

The seal bases mainly engraved with different cruci- forms, but there's also a much earlier Halaf period seal in this lot.

A set of three blue and white saucer plates, the back brown glazed, so called Batavia ware. Decoration of bamboo, peony and a rock. Yongzheng to early Qianlong, first part of the 18th century. Diameter "5½/ 13,5 cm. Condition: small repair to the border of one plate, all with hairlines.

The two Chinese bamboo root carvings are about 12 inches tall, 5 inches wide and 4 inches thick. They came as a pair but can be displayed separately. They were carved in the late 19th century. Both depict wild geese. Their heads are turned toward a lotus and some unknown plants are behind them. The taller of the two is a little darker. Beside some small cracks and chips they are in fairly good condition.
