Antique Japanese suzuribako (calligraphy writing box) for a merchant. Made of keyaki (elm) wood burl with iron hardware. Two drawers: one for writing implements and one drawer with a lock for keeping money, seals, and important documents safe. A top compartment with a hinged lid would have kept an ink stone.

Antique Japanese small, round, lidded box. Made with metal body covered with lacquer and decorated with a gold lacquer scene of a bridge and a weeping willow tree. Intricate raised machi-e details of waves and willow leaves. Delicate nashiji on the ground around the tree.

Antique Japanese okimono carving of a little skeleton on top of a larger skull. Made of boxwood with a beautiful patina. Intricately carved to show every bone of the small skeleton and the teeth of the skull. The artist's humor is displayed in both style and subject matter.

Fine Rare Chinese Warring States Painted Pottery Jug
This very rare pottery vessel was made during the Warring States period (475 - 221 BC). It is quite highly-fired and "heavily-potted" with a sturdy handle and the mouth fashioned to form a pouring lip. It was originally painted with diagonal lines in white pigment, although only faint traces of this now remains. Note the round protrusion to the inner surface where the handle is joined to the body...
A beautiful Chinese pottery tomb figure of a female rider / Attendant on horseback holding a book or a box. The figure dates to Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644 AD.
The figure is finely glazed in cobalt blue and turqoise colors. Pigmented colours in red, white and black.
She has an elaborate high headdress and was made with many finely painted details, high quality.

A set of three Chinese Ming Dynasty pottery tomb figures of house attendants / gardeners. The figures date to Ming Dynasty - 1368-1644 AD.
The set consists of three figures clad in dark blue robes and hats. Each figure seems to be holding or carrying something for his master. A group of sturdy fellows, by the looks of them. All placed on square plints.
Size: the figures measure 22-23 cm. in height.

This is a children's hakama from the Edo period (1800-1867). Designed with thick katazome stencil dyeing. It is a very beautiful and soft cotton.
It is a very good design with good omen of coral and waves. Textiles are hand spun. There is a little stain. No damage. Recommended for collection. Size: 77cm(30.1")
Ceramic vase probably a soft porcelain. Decoration of dragon flying among clouds in cobalt blue under glassure. Vietnamese work from the 19th century or earlier. Good condition, some chips on the collars visible on photo. No repairs. Height: 205mm.
Full cast roe deer with elongated body, the curved neck slightly prone. Pointed tail. The head small and pointed, horns and ears cut out in an X-shape. Thin legs with kinked hooves. Right hind leg broken off.
