This is Yogi of the great high quality of Edo period. As for this, the Kaiki- silk of the high quality is used. As for this, silk Katazome is used for the part of the shoulder. It is dyed with an indigo plant. And it is a cover for the shoulder regions. As for this, around four holes from 2cm to 3cm are seen in a Katazome part. The green Tumugi- silk thread is basting thread.
In this Yogi, good-quality silk spun by hand is used. And it is very thin...
Spectacular 19th Century miniature Buddha's Throne from Mandalay, Burma. Elaborately hand carved wood with finest gilding inlaid with countless cabochons and colored mirror pieces. Antique Japanese full size two section isho tansu (chest on chest for clothing), made of kiri (paulownia) wood with original deep reddish brown translucent lacquer finish with wonderful patina especially around the iron work. This pale buff earthenware vase is painted with a fairly elaborate Moorish design derived from Middle Eastern ceramics. The front is tin glazed, and the back is largely unglazed, exposing the earthenware body. Two loop handles are attached to the shoulder for suspension. There is a small old chip to the lip of the opening. There are some small glaze skips from firing, and some old wear from use. No cracks or repairs.

This vase, of a pale amethyst tone, was hand-blown with slightly fluted vertical segments from top to bottom. It is decorated in colored enamels that are lightly raised and enhanced by gold enamel, now somewhat worn. It is in good condition.

This is Noragi used in the Shonai, Yamagata district for the Meiji period. As for this, cotton is used for the warp. And cotton thread and Koyori-Paper colored into a weft with a natural indigo plant are used.

Here he is depicted gazing upward toward heaven, arms outstretched, wearing his Dominican robe embroidered in gold with a long painted rosary dangling past his waist. His white undergarment is richly painted with flowers and gold leafy tendrils. Carved in full round, his head is set with glass eyes and he retains a good amount of the original paint. Original Antique Japanese gyosho bako (merchant's chest) made from kiri (paulownia) wood with a red lacquer finish. Its front features two doors on iron hinges, with iron fan shaped corner hardware and locks. Many drawers of varying size and handle styles sit within. The sides of the box have iron rings for a merchant to attach straps and carry. Original condition and glowing finish. Wonderful piece.

This tray has a well-painted floral design with green arabesques covering the interior. The exterior is lacquered black and undecorated. There is an overall crackle effect to the interior. There is no flaking, and old separations along the base and sides are stable. Generally, it is in good condition with only modest wear to the interior.

This candlestick is cast in the form of a medieval, possibly English, bearded ma. The candle cups and base are attached by a hand-cut screw that formed part of the casting. It has an old, though not original patina. It is in good condition.
