DESCRIPTION: A large wooden scholar’s brush used to paint large calligraphy. Thick black bristles are gathered into a bulbous wood ferrule, turned from the same wood as the handle. The tip of the handle is pierced for hanging. A very nice old brush, good for display in large brush pots; 19th C., normal wear as would be expected. DIMENSIONS: 16” long (41 cm).

Large 19th century rice or vegetable basket made by the mountain people from northern Luzon, the largest island in the Philippine archipelago. This coil basket is perfectly symmetrical has nice warm patina. The coil weaving technique, materials (finely split rattan and nito vine), and design are consistent with baskets made by the Kalinga tribe. Twelve(12) English Wedgwood Game Plates, Pink Octagon shape, colorful Pheasants in the center on the crazed white glazed center bordered by pink wide rim, 8 1/4" to 8 3/4" wide, marked "Imperial Porcelain, Wedgwood & Co, England" in green, and also impressed mark "Wedgwood, England" with numbers. The gold around the rims are somewhat worn, no damage.

Three(3) pieces English Pratt ware Earthenware Tea or Dessert set, consisting of dessert plate-8 1/4" diameter, smaller plate-6 1/4" diameter, tea cup-2 3/4" high and 3 1/8" diameter-top rim, saucer-1 1/8" high, 5 3/4" diameter, Cow design in front of the Castle scenery and Shepard attending Horses and Cows. One(1) small plate has marked "Pratt, 123, Fenton" on the bottom. The condition is good, there are some wear from old age in pink rim area.
