A good quality Japanese vase and cover decorated with scrolling Octopus-vine patterns almost entirely covering the body of the vase and cover. Probably Arita in origin. The vase dates to the early 19th Century and the late Edo period. The vase stands 26cm high, including the cover, and has a diameter of 15cm. The foot-ring measures 8cm. The vase weighs 1445 grams in total. The condition is good no cracks, chips or restoration to the body. There is a crack to the rim of the cover (see images)...

Antique framed Balinese kampuh songket, a men's ceremonial wrapper cloth, handmade with supplementary weft silk, cotton, gold and silver thread. The red ground cloth with gold and silver thread motifs of pairs of robed standing figures wielding staffs with butterflies, and fierce heads above with gaping mouths, full of sharp teeth and long tongues. The edges are bordered in zig zag patterns, geometric scrolls, and woven script in gold and silver thread...

A mounted hand-woven Malaysian Songket head cloth from the Palembang region of South Sumatra. Weft ikat, supplementary weft weave, silk and gold thread with natural dye. The red ground of the cloth with resist dye floral medallions and gold thread rosettes, bordered with geometric zig zag patterns These Songkets were traditionally hung from a wedding bed to announce the wealth of the family, and were also worn during religious ceremonies...

A deck of antique Fred Harvey "Souvenir Playing Cards - The Great Southwest" circa 1911-1912. Full deck (52 cards plus a Joker and a Map). Each card displays a different photograph, including destinations, places, and native people of the Southwest. The back of each card shows a scene of Indians on horseback. Golden-edged cards. Late 189th century Indian bronze votive plaque depicting Khandoba (a form of Shiva worshipped in Western India) mounted on a horse with his wife Mhalsa in his lap, and a dog following the horse. Khandoba holds various implements in his upper hands and a short sword in his left lower hand. Two round holes with raised lips on top probably signify the sun and the moon. Nice quality casting for that type of plaques, beautiful patina, the front is graciously worn from 200 years of worship...

Unusual 18th/19th century small votive Indian bronze sculpture of Nandi - the vehicle of Shiva, or sometimes considered to be a form of Shiva himself. It rests in its usual position wearing rich trappings surrounded by numerous offerings. Very neat casting and detailing, great patina, compressed dust in crevices and traces of sandalwood paste used during worship, bottom is covered with red paste. Very good devotional object, wonderful feel of age to the piece. Length 1 3/8 inches.
