Amber-glazed lidded stoneware jar used as a seasoning (mainly salt) container, late 19th century, Joseon Dynasty, Korea, approx. D 22 x H 21cm (8.66 x 8.26in)...

19th century Japanese bronze tea ceremony hibashi (long metal chopsticks for handling charcoal in hibachi brazier) with bronze working ends and handles covered in lacquered wood. These hibashi are for use in the winter time - summer ones are made entirely of metal. Finely made of bronze with high copper contents, beautiful lacquering with gold sunspots, superb patina, beautiful wear, pleasantly heavy. Length 10 inches.

American Victorian sterling silver shaving mug, ca 1880. Curved and waisted with pierced top bowl and second projecting bowl for brush. Frond and flower repousse. Cast scroll handle has same motif. Marked “Black, Starr & Frost / New-York / Sterling”. Very good condition.

19th century Japanese small lacquered wood netsuke representing an unusual theatrical mask of a one-horned oni. Crisp detailing, nicely lacquered, great patina. some wear to the surface. Signed RYUUN on the back bar - the artist is listed in NETSUKE MASKS by Raymond Bushell, p. 175, signatures 241-243. Height 1.25 inches.

Chinese Export Canton pattern Blue and White Porcelain Leaf shape Sauce/Gravy Boat, Ca. 1840's 1 1/2" high, 7 1/4" long with handle, 3 3/4" wide-maximum measurement. Underglaze blue design of typical Canton pattern, Chinese Pavilions on the river bank, a man with umbrella is walking on the bridge. There are several frits and chips on the rim area.

Lovely Chinese porcelain jar with a cheerful family scene. Enamels are rich and colorful. In excellent condition, no chips, no hairlines, no cracks. Measures 5 inches high, 5.5" diameter. Tongzhi, circa 1860

This Chinese antique wood carving was possibly part of an architectural structure or possibly from a piece of furniture. The wood is approximately 1.3 inches thick and retains much of the original finish though it is obviously worn in some areas. The tradition carvings of 2 dragons chasing the pearl is very well done. The piece is about 5 inches high and 17 inches long.

19th century Korean plaque of a tiger hand carved and painted with red and gold gilt pigments. Dates Joseon dynasty. Condition is good except some old wood loss to the inner paw area. It measures about 8" x 7 inches.

Victorian Gothic sterling silver goblet. Made by James Charles Edington in London in 1857. Tall and flared bowl with gilt interior; girdled cylindrical stem on raised foot with studded lobes and scalloped rim. Bowl has four studded and stippled strapwork frames of which two inset with flowers and a third with a medieval horseman galloping through a rocky landscape accompanied by a dog, all in relief. Rare 19th C sterling silver English peasant's shoe or boot match striker. Detailing is excellent. Fully hallmarked, it measures 2.75" long by 1.5" high.

19th century finely hand-carved Japanese boxwood netsuke of a blind masseur or Totsuka Beggar crouching and trying to lift a stone, or possibly his hugely distended scrotum. He has the typical bump on his head. He squints as he attempts to lift the large object. He is wearing only a fundoshi. His right eye is inlaid with light colored horn.
