Hayagriva is shown wearing a tiger skin apron and a long necklace of human heads, holding various implements in his hands...
Little distorted half cylinder shaped (kutsugata) tea bowl with flaring mouth made of light, coarse unrefined Mino clay. The expertly thrown body was covered with the typical green copper oxide glaze inside and outside. A 'window' on the side has been left unglazed and is decorated with fern sprouts. This is a typical late Momoyama design, which seems to represent winter and summer. You can find a black Oribe bowl with a similar design in the Nezu Museum...

Antique Chinese bronze gu vase. A bronze wine vessel (gu), late Shang dynasty, 12th-11th century BC, with two pieces that separate in the middle, trumpet neck, and archaic taotie style designs along the body. Beautiful patina with crack in rim.
Most likely produced in the Ming Dynasty.

Blue & white pieces in Jingdezhen Ming dynasty like these are called "古染付 kosome" and loved by Japanese tea masters.Especially natural chips on the mouth edge are loved and called "虫喰 mushikui" that means worm eating marks.
They are suited to "wabi sabi" feeling.
These pieces have five horses painted in free and easy style.

A rare GENUINE SWATOW MING DYNASTY POLYCHROME BOWL, 1570-1650, with overglaze iron red and green.
Fair overall condition, with some wear due to condiderable age inside the bowl. As common in SWATOW WARE, this bowl has sand/kiln/grit deposits on the bottom and outside and because of the high temperatures in the firing kiln, it is not perfectly level, but warped as shown in the photograph. Size: 21 cm. diameter. Very low price as warped!
