Chinese Song dynasty conical form bowl with slightly flared rim covered in a pale blue-green qingbai (yingqing) glaze that stops at the flat, unglazed low foot. Fine comb incised abstract swirling patterns are faintly visible in the interior. 6 5/8” diameter x 2 1/2" high. Circa 13th century. Good overall condition. Chinese Song dynasty five-petal foliate form bowl covered in a pale creamy-celadon qingbai (yingqing) glaze that stops above the unglazed flat base. The glaze is thicker and more of a celadon color where is drips down from the top edge into the interior. Circa 13th century. 6” diameter x 1 7/8” high. Good overall condition. There are a few tiny nicks to the unglazed edge and there are glaze losses to the outer edge that might have occurred in the kiln...

An Inuyama style pottery dish covered in black lacquer; the two pinched areas of the rim decorated with slight gold designs of fortuitous symbols from the Toyoraku kiln of Nagoya. Inside the dish features crackled glaze decorated with young pine and bamboo shoots with splashes of Oribe green. The Toyoraku stamp is visible to the left of the design. Chinese late Qing dynasty bombe form porcelain censer on three high tripod legs covered overall in a thick sang de boeuf (oxblood) flambe glaze with purple accents that coats the interior and drips down to an unglazed section at the bottom that has burnt orange. The top and bottom show typical signs where it was broken off the kiln supports. Measures 6 1/2" diameter (at the flat top) x 4 3/4" high. 19th century. Very good overall condition. Citipati mask made of gilt embossed copper. Tibet, early 19th century. Height: 18.7 cm. Width: 22.2 cm. The mask is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Obvious signs of age, otherwise good condition.
Floor cushion cover (zabuton-gawa) made of choma (ramie) whose warps and wefts are hand-plied. It has beautiful katazome (stencil-resist-dye) bamboo motif. The white ground katazome is called "Jishiro" which is rather rare than indigo ground one. It has also nice cloth with stripes for lining, whose warps are cotton and wefts are ramie. Probably made in Echigo, now Niigata prefecture. In excellent condition. The second half of the 19th century. 64cm x 68.5cm

A splendid set of five Chataku Tea Cup Saucers of turned wood decorated in ridiculously thick lacquer floral decoration by Ikkokusai enclosed in a fine wooden box signed by the artist and dated Meiji 39 (1906). Accompanying is a note stating the set was received as a gift upon visiting the Naganuma Ryokan during a trip to Hiroshima in the fifth month of Meiji 43, accompanied by the name Kayanomiyasama. Kaya-no-miya were a collateral branch of the Japanese Imperial family...
