Late 1800s / early 1900s

This figure is press-molded in the traditional manner of blanc de chine sculptures from late Ming times through the Nineteenth Century. It is well-modeled from highly refined, very white porcelain. The interior is unglazed revealing the fine white body. The figure has a glossy creamy white appearance from the fine, evenly-applied clear glaze. She sits with one knee slightly raised and hands concealed by the flowing robe. A beaded pendant adorns the chest...

Japanese Kanzashi hairpin, maki-e on hand carved wood. A dadaiko (large drum used for court music) and maku (outdoor fence made out of cloth) under the maple trees. They are pictorial subjects from chapter 7 of The Tale Of Genji, Momiji no Ga (An Autumn Excursion)...

Japanese Pink Glass Ojime Bead, 11/16" diameter, cord go through the large holes on the top and the bottom, to tightening for the Netsuke. There are some indentation on the surface and the open grains on the surface of the glass.

Late 19th to early 20th century Chinese porcelain figure of a mythical beast crouching on a rock above cresting waves with its head lowered as it laps the water with its tongue. Wonderful potting, excellent face, beautiful use of turquoise and aubergine colored glazes. Great patina, compressed dust on the surface, few spots of losses to the glaze, the body stamped with 2 characters on the bottom. Height 2 11/16 inches.

Antique Chinese porcelain planter. Circular in form with foliate rim. The body of the planter is decorated with a colorful enamel scene of frolicking horses. A meadow landscape is beginning it's spring time blossoming of fruit trees and willows bear new leaves. Low mountains rise up in the distance and birds fly over a pond. Possibly painted by Lao Sholing who was famous for his depictions of horses...

Chinese pink sgraffiato porcelain plate featuring 2 dragons. In very good condition save for one chip on the back side of the rim. Measures 8" diameter.

This is a solid silver plate with an engraved Islamic design from Egypt. The plate has a sloping scalloped rim and features an eight-point star called "Khatim Sulayman" in the center, formed by two overlapping squares.

The star's center is engraved with Arabic writing and surrounded by a band of eight cartouches with calligraphic Arabic characters...

Antique Chinese porcelain plate circa 1900's (Qing Dynasty). The plate is beautifully painted with a sage holding a sprig of bamboo riding a blue celadon. The Sage and fish are accompanied by a gold winged dog. There are three seals. The plate is bordered with three registers. It measures 11.75" wide by 9" tall. The base has four bats, one on each side. The edge of the plate has old fitters from age.

Japanese antique water pump, with iron hardware and inscription carved below the handle. Meiji age (1868-1912) Size: 38.5" length, 4" width

Antique Chinese blue and white charger with two phoenixes standing one in front of the other, surrounded by flowering motifs upon a solid cobalt blue background, floral and speckling patterns along the inner rim. The underside has a rugged foot outlined in a single blue ring, and swirling patterns. Dates from the Ming dynasty. Most likely recovered from a shipwreck. Size: 2" height, 10.5" diameter

Chinese porcelain fu dog with a small puppy riding on its back. The piece is done in a style similar to flambe glazes with various hues of blue and maroon can be seen throughout the piece. The statues comes with a fitted wooden stand. Age: Early 20th century, Late Qing to Republic Period. Length 13.25" Width 8.5" Height 20.75

Early 20th century Gabbeh wide runner. All natural dyes about 6cm missing off the ends and one old repair. L: 262cm/103 and W: 103cm/40.5in. There is some simple Arabic script at the top, but I cannot translate it.

Opaline glass bowl in the Brocade pattern, from the John Walsh Walsh glassworks. The opalizing effect was obtained by adding cobalt oxide to the glass, and a complicated procedure of heating and cooling. The opaline patterns made by John Walsh Walsh were produced as early as the turn of the century 1900. Height "3 ¼ / 8 cm, diameter "4 ¾ / 12 cm. Condition: fine.

A finely crafted Japanese tobacco tray (known in Japanese as Tabako Bon) which is often seen being used in tea ceremony. Karaki is a term used to describe the foreign hardwoods that were imported from China and used to make furniture and accessories for the home. Age: 19th-20th century. Lovely black lacquer Japanese vase with 2 crickets. On the back side is a red dot (2 gold dots are on the front), a very interesting and subtle design element. Note in the photos, there is some minor chipping around base. Measures: 8.5" high, 4.25" across shoulder.

Pair Japanese Lacquered Lotus flower decorated on Kiri wood Hibachi with Copper lining, Ca. late meiji period, 1910's, 4 1/4" diameter-maximum outside top measurement, 3 1/4" high, with raised Maki lacquer Lotus flower design on one(1) side. The copper lining has been cleaned and polished and in good condition.

Chinese Monochrome Sancai Hexagonal Dragon Vase, Ca. 1920, 7" high, 4" wide, 3" deep, with Monochrome sancai high relief molded Dragon Vase, high relief Dragon on both side under broad leaf border around the neck. Impressed mark "China" in English on the glazed bottom, the condition is good, no damages.
