A genuine Shan State Bronze Buddha, 17/18th Century, subduing Mara and sitting on a fine stepped throne. Front base has engraved Shan script. The Buddha is filled and heavy, not hollow. It also has an old original dark patina with traces of gilt and very few remnants of cinnabar paint. Size: Height 20.5 cm x 13 cm (8.25" x 5.25" inches). Good condition overall.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Meissen around 1750. The saucer has a diameter of 5 inches and is 1 1/2 inches deep. The cup is 2 1/2 inches high and the diameter is 3 1/2 inches. The edges have little points and scallops. The cup has a split twisted branch handle. Both pieces are hand painted with realistic fruit in vibrant colors. There is gold filigree trim on the rims. Condition: Excellent...

A nicely decorated lobed dinner plate with an off center bouquet of bright flowers in the well of the plate, two sprays of flowers on the lip and a reddish-purple rim. A little green bud near the rim covers a firing flaw. Diameter 9 7/8 inches (25 cm). Underglaze blue mark of crowned interlaced Cs.

Condition; very good and little wear. A short hairline crack from the rim goes about an inch into the plate.

Bright colors and interesting that no gilding was used.

A Chinese Export coffee cup, slightly ribbed and foliated, a rather unusual shape. Enameled decoration of flower garlands in European Rococo style. Early Qianlong period (c 1740), a give-away as for the age is a little flower in iron red and gold to each side. Height "2 ¼ / 6.2 cm. Condition: little black spots and two hairlines (cf. pics).

Japanese Stone Nyoirin Bodhisattva Sculpture, Edo period, before 1800, 21" high, 10 1/2" wide, 6 1/2" deep, one(1) arm on the knee seated position. There are some small nicks on the edges.

A Japanese blue & white porcelain dish, moulded in ‘kraak’ style with the cavetto featuring butterflies and peaches in relief. The rinka, or petalled edge, with flowers. The centre of of the dish has a depiction of a gated pavilion set in a fabulous garden. Arita 1750 ~ 1770. A bowl with a very similar border design and alternate moulded butterflies and peaches is shown in the Catalogue of the Shibata Collection, item 3321.

Choice large faiance Tankard /Stein with German pewtermarks of a castle /towers and unreadable date, later 18th. century.

Fine tin glazed hand painted finish over a white glaze and it's painted with a leaping stag in a landscape with trees. It's pewter mounted hinged top has a reeded ball thumb-piece. And the base with a fine pewter mount as well. The pewter contemporay and original to bthe Stein.

An extremely rare and charming pottery figure, with colored glaze decoration, of a hyena or jackal. Condition is superb, with no flaws or damage at all. 3 1/4" tall.

Chinese export dish or flattened bowl, Yongzheng c 1730. Enameled decoration of birds, flowering peony and a garden rock in the Famille rose palette with some accents in gilt. Diameter 8 2/3 " / 22 cm, height 1 1/3 "/ 3.3 cm. Condition: two hairlines and an old repair with rivets (= without any adhesives or other additions).

A fine porcelain cup and deep saucer decorated with hand painted birds sitting on braches near the ground. The cup and saucer are also decorated with randomly placed puce sprigs. Unmarked, but numerous examples of similar birds with puce sprigs are on marked Ansbach pieces. Saucer 5 ¼ inches (13.4 cm) diameter. Cup 4 inches (10 cm) diameter including the handle, 3 ¼ inches (8 cm) without it. Cup 2 inches (5 cm) tall.

Condition: No chips or repairs...

Rather unusual 18th century stag antler netsuke carved as young Yoshitsune holding naginata (a machete on a wooden shaft) as he performs a high jump over the hand of warrior monk Benkei on the Gojo Bridge. A dish of plain everted form measuring seven suns in diameter and decorated in somenishikide style with a traditional kacho-ga pattern of a pair of Butterflies and a Rock Peony. An auspicious pattern symbolising harmony and prosperity. The reverse decorated with scattered Peony leaf sprigs and the base is plain. The dish dating to circa 1780-1800. The reverse decorated with auspicious stylised Chinese clouds and a four character Fu Ki Cho Sun mark. A single spur mark to the base...

A porcelain ovoid form teapot with a floral knop and hand painted with floral sprays on either side and floral sprigs on above and below the handle, picked out with magenta, and on the spout as well as above and below. The crossed hayforks with a line through them was the factory mark for the late 198th century. Height 5 1/8 inches (13 cm), length across spout and handle 7 ¼ inches (18.4 cm) and width 4 ½ inches (11.4 cm)...

Another Tea kettle from our tetsubin collection: a cast iron Tea kettle tetsubin from China, marked 'Kangxi, 40th year (1700) and the name of a maker 'Kichinichi zo'.

It has some traces of age and some rust inside. Great item with sophisticated atmosphere.

Reddish brown shrine with three very fine sculptures: Benzaiten in the middle, to her right Daikoku, and Bishamon to her left. Benten is seated on a lotus, depicted in her 8-armed appearance, holding a jewel, her other attributes are lost. On her head a crown with jewels and the snake-shaped Ugajin. Bishamonten stands on a demon and holds a pagoda, his staff now lost...

Dating from the early 1700s before Meissen starting using their cross swords logo is this very rare Meissen porcelain cameo vase. The applied bisque cameo features the goddess Venus looking into a mirror. In very good antique condition, the only evidence of age is wear to the gold gilt. We have not attempted to clean the vase. Measures 9 inches high, about 4.5" diameter at widest.

Description: Highly collectible and finely executed hand made sterling silver snuff box, From southeast India most likely Burmese, early 19th century and designed fabulously.
