A genuine Shan State Bronze Buddha, 17/18th Century, subduing Mara and sitting on a fine stepped throne. Front base has engraved Shan script. The Buddha is filled and heavy, not hollow. It also has an old original dark patina with traces of gilt and very few remnants of cinnabar paint. Size: Height 20.5 cm x 13 cm (8.25" x 5.25" inches). Good condition overall.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Meissen around 1750. The saucer has a diameter of 5 inches and is 1 1/2 inches deep. The cup is 2 1/2 inches high and the diameter is 3 1/2 inches. The edges have little points and scallops. The cup has a split twisted branch handle. A nicely decorated lobed dinner plate with an off center bouquet of bright flowers in the well of the plate, two sprays of flowers on the lip and a reddish-purple rim. A little green bud near the rim covers a firing flaw. Diameter 9 7/8 inches (25 cm). Underglaze blue mark of crowned interlaced Cs.

Condition; very good and little wear. A short hairline crack from the rim goes about an inch into the plate.

Bright colors and interesting that no gilding was used.

A Chinese Export coffee cup, slightly ribbed and foliated, a rather unusual shape. Enameled decoration of flower garlands in European Rococo style. Early Qianlong period (c 1740), a give-away as for the age is a little flower in iron red and gold to each side. Height "2 ¼ / 6.2 cm. Condition: little black spots and two hairlines (cf. pics).

A Japanese blue & white porcelain dish, moulded in ‘kraak’ style with the cavetto featuring butterflies and peaches in relief. The rinka, or petalled edge, with flowers. The centre of of the dish has a depiction of a gated pavilion set in a fabulous garden. Arita 1750 ~ 1770. A bowl with a very similar border design and alternate moulded butterflies and peaches is shown in the Catalogue of the Shibata Collection, item 3321.

Approximately 18.5 cm diameter. Fine condition...

Choice large faiance Tankard /Stein with German pewtermarks of a castle /towers and unreadable date, later 18th. century.

Fine tin glazed hand painted finish over a white glaze and it's painted with a leaping stag in a landscape with trees. It's pewter mounted hinged top has a reeded ball thumb-piece. And the base with a fine pewter mount as well. The pewter contemporay and original to bthe Stein.

A fine porcelain cup and deep saucer decorated with hand painted birds sitting on braches near the ground. The cup and saucer are also decorated with randomly placed puce sprigs. Unmarked, but numerous examples of similar birds with puce sprigs are on marked Ansbach pieces. Saucer 5 ¼ inches (13.4 cm) diameter. Cup 4 inches (10 cm) diameter including the handle, 3 ¼ inches (8 cm) without it. Cup 2 inches (5 cm) tall.

Dating from the early 1700s before Meissen starting using their cross swords logo is this very rare Meissen porcelain cameo vase. The applied bisque cameo features the goddess Venus looking into a mirror. In very good antique condition, the only evidence of age is wear to the gold gilt. We have not attempted to clean the vase. Measures 9 inches high, about 4.5" diameter at widest.
