A rare square dish, kaku-zara, of cushion fom made in the early 18th century for Export to Europe. It is decorated in the centre with a classic kacho-ga motif of Chrysanthemums and Butterflies, and the border is painted with hosoge-mon, stylised floral motifs, reserved within a blue and gilt brocade ground with further stylised floral motifs. Altar dedicated to Hanuman, the Hindu semi-god, carved in openwork relief to represent Hanuman standing with a martial attitude, carrying a club in his left hand and an uprooted tree in his right hand, and trampling a supine figure, probably a demon. Marble, with traces of red pigments. India, 18th century. Height: 13.7 cm. Abrasion due to age, otherwise very good condition.

This beautiful chawan (tea bowl) was made in the oribe style, a more than four hundred year old tradition from the central part of Japan in the ancient Mino province.

That tradition was in part influenced by tea master and warrior Furuta Oribe (1545-1615) who developed his own style of tea ceremony. The bowl is very well made and in perfect condition. It dates from the mid Edo Period and has no repairs or damages except inborn kiln cracks...

This is a superb English MSAT wine glass with a vermicular collar. It is a pair with item g1252 and matches g1251, though that glass is considerably and uncommonly larger. The glass for sale in this listing is shown on the right in the first photo.

A superb early Qing Shunzhi - Kangxi wucai baluster jar, this large jar has straight neck, broad shoulders with sides tapering towards and flat unglazed base. This jar is painted in under glaze blue and over glaze red, green, and yellow over glaze enamel, there is scenery of human motif in four panel radiating on each side, neck with flower motif.
Jar is in good condition with faint hairline at the rim, no chip, no restoration.

A very rare scroll weight resp. paper weight made from glass and painted with a very pleasing romantic landscape . This painting is done in a typical Qianlong manner on a opaque white glaze and is covered with a thick layer of transparent glaze. Qianlong Period ( 1736 - 1795 ) On the back side of the piece is something like a very small signature which can be seen on the last enlargement. L : 17,5 cm. B : 3,3 cm. H : 1,2 cm. Condition : Perfect.

A Chinese bronze water-dropper, Late Ming/Qing, 17th/18th century, well cast as a flower issuing from rockwork in a quatrefoil shaped jardiniere. 8cms long.

Of elegant pear shaped form. 18th. century, unmarked. Unfortunalely on all the images of the piece the blue color of the vase is much too light. In nature the vase has an wonderful very intensive blue tone. H : 18,8 cm. Condition : Perfect. Provenance : Old German collection.

An elegant and beautiful lead Jacobite toasting glass engraved by "Engraver B" in Seddon's book. The drawn trumpet bowl has a 6 petal rose, an open rose bud to its left, and a closed rose bud to its right.

Over the years there have been various interpretations of these symbols, and even now it can be argued that the rose represents either the Crown of England or James, the Old Pretender...

A fine and very uncommon opalescent stem double series opaque twist (DSOT) Georgian wine glass. The round funnel bowl is engraved with leaves and a budding rose on one side, and a shrub on the other. The stem has a pair of 11 ply spiral bands outside of a central corkscrew. Conical foot with rough, snapped pontil.

There are no condition issues or flaws in this glass...
