An antique Japanese hand carved wood Ranma (transom) framed in Hinoki (Cypress) and hand carved in deep relief of Akita Sugi (Northern Cryptomeria) woods. Featuring a complex multi level temple and grounds amidst a a beautiful pine tree forest with mountains and clouds in the foreground and background. Continuous elaborate design on the reverse side of the transom.

This early 20th century Japanese netsuke is 1 ½ inches high, 1 ½ inches wide and 3 quarters of an inch thick. It depicts a mythical beast with a human face. The creature has the body of a horse; however, it is covered with horns and flames raise from its legs. It is signed “Masayaki”. It is in great condition.

this old set of books was originally held together into a single volume with a cover.. The cover is now clearly falling apart and the books are all tied together with a leather cord probably done sometime in the 50's. Each volume covers a different aspect of law...civil, criminal etc... There is a very faded red seal on the front page...the photo of the seal has been enhanced to hopefully make it more readable... Lots of Chinese characters used throughout the text...

A large Chinese brush pot hand carved from solid Zitan hardwood. The brush pot has a cylindrical natural form with interesting root texturized edges. An unusual scholars brush pot holder. The zitan shows "gold threading" running with that of the dark grain.

Japanese Sumida Gawa lidded sake pot or teapot with brown, blue, cream, and pale gray flambé glaze coating dripping down the exterior of the pottery surface. Two applied children in high relief are on the side. A glazed white plaque with a Ban-ni mark in underglaze blue is on the back. 6” diameter x 3" high. Early 20th century. Very good overall condition with no cracks, chips, or losses. Typical wear and production imperfections. The handle is missing...
