Antique wooden lusong (mortar). This lusong was used with a lomok (pestal) by the B'laan people to pound rice in order to separate the grain from the husks. The B'laan people are indigenous of Southern Mindanao in the Philippines. This lusong is especially large and beautifully carved of a single piece of hardwood. Size: 24 1/2" high x 21 1/4" wide diameter.

A spectacular calligraphic work by E. Bambeck, signed and dated as part of the painting. Using pastels, watercolors, and pen and ink, he has limned a pair of very lifelike parakeets on white branches against a stark black background. A 9.5" signed 19th century Satsuma bowl, possibly Razan. This is a beautifully enameled piece; over a ground of raised chrysanthemums are two painted panels, one of a bijin, the other of a mountain landscape.

Condition: Very good, there is one old hairline repair to the rim, illustrated in photograph five. No other issues.

A fine example of the rare Lowestoft porcelain "Mandarin Green Window" pattern made between 1768 and 1775.

The bowl and saucer are in very good condition, with the saucer having a small flaw, which appears to be in the making, at the edge at 11 o'clock. The bowl has no issues at all. Colors are much stronger than shown in the photos. The saucer is 5" in diameter, and the bowl is 1 3/4" in height.

A nice and finely potted famille rose covered teacup dated to the Tongzhi period. It has a scene of a garden with flowers, grass and butterlies flying. A red Tonzhi reign mark to the top of the cover and base of the teacup.

Generally in very good condition. Minor pinholes. No hairline, glaze fritting,crack, repair or restoration.

The dimension of the teacup is: the height with cover on is 8.1cm and the diameter is 10cm.

The sound box (Resonator) of the harp is made of wood and covered with snake skin, with one round opening on the anterior surface, and small holes for the strings.

There are no holes in the neck for the tuning pegs since the strings were fastened to the neck by the loops...

Unusual subject - normally they are wrestling, but here it does not seem to be the case - the monkey is smiling.
