Bronze okimono depicting the study of a powerful tiger in a furtive position. The animal is represented with its legs bent, its tail curled upwards and its body in a lowered position just before launching the attack. The streaks of the fur, typical of the animal, are depicted in a masterful way and highlighted with a marked engraving. This okimono is signed Hideyoshi 秀義 under the belly. Antique Japanese 4 panel screen with rooster and hen. This unusual screen has gold lacquered open lattice work backed with the original sheer white silk. A beautiful scene of a blossoming plum tree, yellow daisies and chickens makes up the carved and painted foreground. The bottom portion of each panel is pierced carved and painted with scenes of rocks and cymbidium orchids.

This is a signed late Meiji 7.25" silver wired olive green cloisonne vase portraying a rooster, hen and chick among chrysanthemums of two varieties.

Condition: Negligible pitting, no chips, cracks, or repairs.

A two-handled solid silver bowl made around 1890. Unmarked, but its shape and the pierced pattern with crescents and six-pointed stars indicates a Russian and Jewish origin. Tested for a silver content of 800 / 1000 (minimum). Weight 157 grams, width "4 ½ / 11 cm and height "2 ½ / 6 ½ cm. Condition: fine.

Antique Japanese small round hibachi carved of kiri (paulownia) wood and lined with copper. It is decorated with a still-life display of a fishing basket, fisherman's rod and the catch of the day. Beautifully captured in raised gold maki-e lacquer, the fishing basket and fish have a life-like appearance. The large fish that has just been caught glitters with inlaid shell...

The black stone tile has mosaic inlay of mother of pearl Taj Mahal detailed with black pen ink lines. This Anglo Indian Victorian piece from the Raj era would have come from the Visagapatam region of India, which was known for its finely detailed black pen ink designs.

Two very rare and large Canton enamel vases on the original wooden stands with lovely rich patina and bright well painted scenes of the Chinese goddess Chang'e. These quatrefoil vases enables the owner to change the scenes at will by merely turning the vase to a different panel. This is rare to find in Chinese vases of the period. These date to the late 19th C. One of the stands are inscribed 'China' with a backwards 'N' to help authenticate period...
