Japanese Meiji Period Blue and White Arita Porcelain Sculpture of Jo and Uba, an old and
wrinkled couple who care for the pine trees and gather needles in Takasago, (based on a Noh play). Jo is depicted with a rake and Uba with a broom of twigs. This famous couple symbolizes Marital Love and Fidelity, and were created by Arita porcelain masters to bring marital bliss to a home. Male: 14.5 inches (37cm) high, Female: 13 inches (33cm) high.
This porcelain saucer was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279) covered with white glaze, unglazed base. Condition : glaze degradation and a tiny chip on th rim. Size: 11 cm diamater.

This is a thinly potted tea cup depicting the Buddhist's eight auspicious signs which is found on the sole of Buddha's feet. They are the mystic knot, fish, wheel of the law, lotus, canopy, unbrella, conch shell and the jar. The tea cup stand on a short recessed foot-rim and into a U-shaped body and then with an everted mouth rim. On the cover of the tea cup, it is surrounded by the ruyi motive all around and four emblem of the auspicious signs...

This pair of crystal compotes was made in England by Stevens & Williams around 1900. They measure 6 inches tall and the openings have a diameter of 5 3/4 inches. They are hand blown from clear crystal that varies from thicker areas to very thin. This type of crystal is often referred to as “rock crystal.” It imitated the mineral stone used by the Chinese. This is a famille rose bowl with medallion motif of various flowers and design. It stands on a short foot-rim and everted into a U-shaped bowl. In the center of the bowl, there is a pair of peaches in medallion design, surrounded by the peach leaf in altenate light and dark green colour glaze. At the center of the foot-rim, there is a seal mark of a peach and a bat. This antique Chinese offering cup would have been filled with water for Buddha and left at the temple alter. It dates from WanLi Reign during the Ming Dynasty.
The cup is black lacquer, peach shaped for long life, has a footed bottom, and ornate finger stops on each side. It has several nicks and chips as is appropriate for its age. The cup is 1.25 inches high and 3 inches across at the widest point.
