Anasazi / St Johns Poly-chrome with animal figures on outside ca. 1300 ad., it appears they smoked the inside on purpose for what reason it is not know, it has a complex design on interior and 6 deer or antelopes drawn on outside in white paint(interesting), on one side of bowl there is restoration on rim approx: 10%. It is approx: 9-1/2"wide X 3-1/2"deep.

Exquisite Pre-Columbian stirrup vessel depicting Two Jaguars, an adult and cub, 500 BC–500 AD, 8" H x 10.5 ; Vicus, Peru. This piece appears in "Pre-Columbian Art" by Alan Lapiner, in color on page 186. Its broad grin is reminiscent of the characters in Maurice Sendak's book "Where the Wild Things Are." Other than the commonly-seen material-jadestone, crystal was used to be esteemed as the precious gem and being treasured among the noble people.

Lovely large figural stele of Pavati, Eastern Java, Early Majapahit, c. 13th.-14th. cent. AD.
The figure is carved in grey-black Vulcanic rock with red iron-oxide patination.
In this sculpture the Hindu goddess Parvati, consort of Siva is represented. It was customary in Javanese sculpture of this period to identify local rulers with cult deities and it is possible that this image of Parvati is intended to represent a deceased east Javanese queen.

Although just a fragment, the imagery is outstanding in this substantial gray pottery piece. Molded and carved, it depicts two seated chieftains facing one another over a table (?) resting on a skull. The imagery is crisp and clear. The piece measures 6" X 2-5/8", while the image itself is 4" in width by 1-3/4". Dating to the 5th - 8th century AD.
Height approximately 22.5 cm. There are several parts not completed. Repaired.
Mesa Verde squash effigy canteen ca. 1000 ad., it is approx: 7-1/2"high X 6"wide, it is whole except for handle was broken off about half way down handle and re-glued back on, the very tip of handle the crack was restored. I have been told that they intentionally stained the body with cactus juice to give it a ripen squash look, this canteen would have had a yucca plug in it to hold the water in as they traveled.
