It has rubbing of gilt, oxidation, tarnished metal, cut marks at the metal rims, and surface wears and scratches. The enamel has minor stress cracks, minor bruising, pitting, minor missing enamels, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos)...

This is japanese antique idigo dye cotton boro long noragi Shonai sashikoused in the Shonai region of Yamagata Prefecture during the Meiji period. Antique Japanese set of 13 lotus leaves and blossoms. Carved of wood and lacquered gold. Made for a Buddhist temple altar, they symbolize the stages of the path toward enlightenment. This set is especially lavish with giant sized lotus leaves and towering lotus blossoms. They fit into a bronze vase.

Early 19th century Japanese cloisonne plate decorated with a butterfly in flight over blooming peony bushes, all within a brocade border. Rare Art Inc. sticker on the back, bold powerful design, rare and early piece in terms of Japanese cloisonne, from the period of transition from Chinese to Japanese style. The back is decorated with a typical Japanese scrolling design. Very pleasant matte finish with original pitting. Diameter 7 5/16 inches.

Late 19th century Japanese cloisonne kogo (covered box for incense during tea ceremony) decorated on top with butterflies and various flowers, and bottom with central chrysanthemum and scrolling branches with leaves. Great detailed work, gilding to all exposed metal including wires (some wear). Wonderful piece in Japanese taste. Diameter 2.58 inches, height 0.77 inches.

Vintage Japanese wooden sago (tea scoop) carved in a shape of an eggplant. That kind of tea scoop is used for sencha - a type of Japanese green tea which is prepared by infusing the processed whole tea leaves in hot water. Cleverly and beautifully carved (see the stippling on the leaves by the stem) out of softwood, very pleasant to hold, in great condition. Length 4 7/8 inches.

A timely and quirky soy brown glazed Korean War era chopstick holder with political slogans. The left hand column translates as “support your family and the Chinese military”, the right hand “oppose America, support Korea” and the top characters “increase productivity”. Possibly used in a factory canteen this is the only ceramic I have ever seen from this brief period...

Aesthetically withered wood carving Buddhist image with depth, Edo period, 19th century, Japan, approx. 15 x 4 x 3cm (5.90 x 1.57 x 1.18in)...

Very fine lacquer “siri” box from the Karen ethnic group in Northern Thailand. This has thick application of black lacquer and a fine naturally aged patina- circa 50 to 60 years old. There are two inner trays and is in good condition- there is one old repair at the bottom that may be noted in the last enlargement. H: 10.5cm4.1in and D: 9cm/3.5in.

Northern Song vitreous glazed over white slip Cizhou jar. Nice ivory toned piece emulating Ding ware. There is a simple repair on one side of the body which is pointed out in photos and chip on mouth rim. Dimensions: 13cm/2.9in width and 9.5cm/3.7in height. This from a Northern Kiln most likely Henan, or Shanxi.

A rare GENUINE SWATOW MING DYNASTY POLYCHROME BOWL, 1570-1650, with overglaze iron red and green. Fair overall condition, with some wear due to condiderable age inside the bowl. As common in SWATOW WARE, this bowl has sand/kiln/grit deposits on the bottom and outside and because of the high temperatures in the firing kiln, it is not perfectly level, but warped as shown in the photograph. Size: 21 cm. diameter. Very low price as warped!

Garland-entwined figure mounted to pillar top. On two, a bosomy, drapery-clad caryatid; on other two, a naked atlantes. Soft youthful flesh that contrasts with the statuary pillar.
