A very rare and interesting Early Christian / Coptic drinking cup, Egypt, 1st. cent. BC-4th. century AD.

Attractive cup, shaped much like the greek Kylix, low with twin handles. Finely decorated in torquise and black line decor. The motif includes a large cross, a flower, a podium? and arrow symbols.

Size: 14 cm. in diameter incl. handles and 4,8 cm. tall.

Condition: Choice, looks intact, but we think there's a restoration of a crack, very professionally made...

Interesting seal with a long handle and rectangular base, Western Mesopotamian, Ubaid of the 5th. mill. BC.

Finely made grit pattern at the base and quite scarce as a type.

A fine hardstone cyliner seal, Middle Assyrian Empire, 1363-912 BC.

The seal is carved in a matte-black stone and depicts a hunting scene with the great bending to shoot an arrow against a 4-legged animal, crescent above.

Size: 26-27 mm. tall and 11 mm. thick.

Condition: VF, intact with some wear and fine patination and micro deposits.

A pair of unresearched very early african ceramic sculptural art, probably Akan and Nigeria, pre 18th. century and one is probably ancient!

Sold as one lot.

Size: The head is 16,5 cm. incl. the nice base, the other is c. 14,5 cm. tall.

Provenance: Collection of Gunna Munkvad, Denmark, aquired from the 1950s-1980s.

A large Zoomorphic style bronze plaque with a loop for attachment on the back, Scythian c. 700-400 BC.

Very attractive the a beast on top of a large spiral; in bronze alloy with some silver content.

Condition: Nice VF, intact with a black patina.

A high quality figural group of a horseman with groom, Chinese tomb pottery of Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644 AD.

The figure is completely intact. Nice glazing and fine details in pigment.

Attractive steatite scarab of the New Kingdom period, inscribed with the royal name / cartouche of Thutmosis III, 1504-1450 BC

Carved in greyish steatite with fine details of the beetle.

Condition: Nice Very fine, intact with a microscopic chip to the edge, patina with web-like crackles.

A stunning terracotta figure of Horse and Rider, Parthian Empire, 1st-3rd. cent. AD.

The tall bearded figure emerging from the body of the horse, wearing folded cap, the horse with applied disc eyes, traces of decoration. Their bodies is blending into a single, triangular form, with the head and upper body of the man directly behind the horse’s head. Finely detailed features of a mature Parthian horseman, probably nobility.

A very early archaic bronze figure of seated Kore, Italic bronzeage, Etruscan, c. 7th. century BC.

A lovely figure with fine details of Kores archaic features, the elaborate gown and the wonderful expression. She wears a spiked diadem holding her long hair.
Very unusual depiction of Kore half seated, where the usual depiction is a motionless standing image.

Size: c. 69 mm. for the figure alone and 120 mm. incl. the vintage stepped podium.

A very rare and interesting large fragment of a sculptural torquise blue faience vessel with moulded decoration, Egypt, probably Amarna period, 14th. century BC.

The fragment represent up to 40% of what was once a hemispheric low bowl with pseudo handles and black and torquise glaze. Moulded decoration of large snake and the tail of another which would have adorned the other side.

Size: 13-14 cm. long.

A fine cylinder seal carved in the fine hard Hemaetite stone, Neo-Assyrian, 9th.-7th. cent. BC

The seal is of a fine style, engraved with stylized animals in drill style, incl. a scorpion

A very attractive pottery bowl, in a very original state for type with caligraphy, Islamic Samenid Dynasty, ca. 9th.-10th. century.

A larger rounded bowl, decorated with wonderful caligraphy in black on cream glaze.

Size: 23 cm. wide and 8 cm. tall.

Condition: Extremely fine for type. Original crackled glaze with much patina. See the closeups for the condition of the glaze - very limited restoration of the glaze, if any!

Important large terracotta pottery figure of Aphrodites, Hellenistic period, Southern Italian workshops, 3rd.-2nd. century BC.

The figure is depicted in a wonderfull greek style as nude, posing and holding a garment or gown, so that it cover a part of legs behind. A hollowcast figure standing on a square podium.

Size: 26 cm. so very large and impressive for the type.

Condition: Attractive and intact, with some patches of corrosion and a delamination on the right...

A nice Egyptian wooden painted figure of a Falcon, Late period, c. 660-332 BC.

Comes with a low lucite base, total 6,3 cm. tall. Old black ink number on the head.

Condition: Very fine for the material, smaller losses, preserved pigments.

Provenance: P. Treffz-Eichhöfer, Stuttgart, 1980s collection.

A finely patinated Danish Neolithic sickle, dating back to the later neolithic period, ca. 2600-2200 B.C.

A sickle of a good size, measuring c. 15,5 cm. long. Nice workmanship with an old inventory number in white ink.

The patina is a warm even brown colour! Very attractive.

Condition: Choice, with a few minor ancient chips from use as seen in the pictures, covered by patina.

Interesting large stamp seal of the conoid type in greenish glass, Achaemenid Empire, c. 7th.-4th. cent. BC.

The seal carved with the great King standing left with weapon and other figures, incl. a winged one.

Size: 19 mm. tall and 18 mm. wide.

Condition: Fine and intact, but with several internal fisures and a small chip. Comes with the original hard clay impression from below collection and ID-Card. Aquired to the Oberländer collection in 1991. Rare.

An interesting and very attractive stamp seal with animal-handle, Western Mesopotamia, c. early 1st. mill. BC.

The seal finely carved black serpentine as a rectangular seal base upon which there's an animal standing. It looks like a dog to us. The seal is carved with a vivid depiction of a Bull with a smaller animal on it's back.

Size: 16 x 11 mm.

Condition: Extremely fine, nice redish dessert patina.

A solid substantial Byzantine silver seal ring, early medieval style, 10th.-12th. cent. AD.

These rather solid attractive rings were made from around the 10th.-12th. century, this ring is likely Byzantine to judge from the design of the Bezel. Nice and attractive in the typical lower grade silver. Wearable!
