Interesting set of two bronze weights including a scarce Arakan weight and another probably Burmese Shan, both early weights for the types probably dating late 18th. century.

The Arakan weight typically crude manifacturing and only 254 grams, the other weight weighs c. 315 grams.

Both with much patina and attractive!

A interesting and scarce specimen of the early Toe (Chinte) Opium weight of the 2 tical, Burma, c. 1600-1650 AD

Well-patinated bronze weight of the old classical style featuring the unusual octagonal stepped base, depicting a ‘Toe’ or lionbeast – a mythical animal.

Weight: 30,7 grams = 2 Tical

Rarity: Scarce; smaller nominal of a type in high demand from collectors.

Nice different specimens of the old Karaweik bird type 5 tical bronze opium weight, Burma (from Ava, Rangoon, Amarapura), 18th. century.

All on octagonal base, with three neck-ridges and spikes, with different varieties of backcovers etc.

Weight: 73-81 grams = 10 tical.

A nice pair of brass figures of deities, Krishna dancing on the Cobra and female deity dancing, India or Nepal, c 19th.-20th. cent.

A very nice earlier Shan Duck or Hamsa Bird with old bird? verification mark at the hexagonal base. Smooth neck, one spike on the top and ear-shaped wing.

The Hamsas with varieties of spikes and other features, all standing on elongated hexagonal bases. 6-ray or bird verification marks.

Weight: c. 79,5-80,6 grams = 5 tical.

Condition: VF-EF, Very nice surfaces and metal for types.

An elaborate silvered bronze 10 tical opium weight with lovely patina, ca. 1750-1776 AD.

Attractive weight of the Toe type, with a octagonal base engraved with concenthric lines and fine details to the cast.

The Hamsas with one spike, standing on hexagonal bases, different styles of heads/beaks and both V-tails. One is probably early Arakan style and lower weight-standard.

Condition: F-VF, The burma very good condition, the Arakan Near VF, typical high amount of wear for the Arakan types...

A nice and scarce bronze axe, interesting asymethric form, designed for trust with a wide blade, Dong Son Culture, Annam region of present day Vietnam, 4th.-1st. cent. BC.

Enigmatic for the Dong Son culture and very attractive. The Dong Son Culture evolved semi-autonomous from the Han Empire in China until the powerful Han-dynasti Nanyue expanded south around 110 BC. and incoporated the region into the realm.
