Exceptional antique Japanese large kannon biraki tansu (chest with hinged doors). Two stacking sections made all of kiri (paulownia) wood. This chest has unusually bold hardware made of iron with traces of red lacquer. Half cylinder shaped (Hanzutsu) tea bowl made of light, coarse unrefined Mino clay, with very little and small ishihaze (exploding stones).

The surface of this black glazed bowl signed on the base Dohachi has been impressed all over with seals in a style known as In-chirashi. A vintage, crisply patterned early Canadian pressed or pattern glass 8-1/2" pitcher in the Nova Scotia Starflower pattern (Trenton Glass). 19th century Chinese bamboo brushpot carved in the round with a continuous scene of Chinese scholars and peasants by rice bales under pine trees with gnarled branches, all in a setting of mountains, stream and clouds. Seven human figures, each in a distinct attitude, excellent quality carving - see the faces, robes, rocks, clusters of pine needles and textures of tree trunks. Excellent patina, compressed dust in crevices. Superb piece in scholarly taste. Height 5 3/8 inches, width 3 5/8.

Very unusual American victorian check of walnut and burl. It has two small drawers on top and four large drawers on the bottom. The design is one of flowers, and is framed with a burl border. Circa 1880, very different.

Japanese Marquetry wood inlaid Hanging Cabinet or hanging cupboard with doors, one(1) shelf inside, Meiji period, later part of 1800's, 24 3/4" high, 22 1/2", 6" deep. All the Marquetry inlaid wood designs are on the front part of the doors and the top area, representing typical Japanese Artistic Symbols on the Hardwood Cedar and other mixed wood, and Brass key hole is not complete. It shows beautiful wood old Patina with age, one(1) vertical small piece of the wood on the side panel is missing...

Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Censer, 3 1/4" high, 7" diameter-top rim, 3 5/8" diameter-bottom rim, Ca. between 1880 - 1920, with underglaze blue bands of geometric Chinese symbol decoration outside, inside half way down is unglazed. Bottom outside is unglazed with some black script. The condition is good, no damage.
A collection of seven types of fruits including mango, persimmon, pomegranate and cherry, star fruits all finely rendered with leaves and branches, hand crafted in repousse silver with hyperealism. Fruit to be displayed with the wish for fertility as they are known for holding many seeds.

Pair of Japanese Lacquered jubako or tiered box used for placing sweets inside. The box is decorated with motif of waves done in mother of pearl. The lid and the side of the boxes contain images of prunus done in hira-makie. The jubako was done in the Ryukyu Islands where the motifs contain influences from Japan, China, Korea, and Southeast Asia.

Lovely handled silver plate tray with center crest and beading all around the edges. It is simple but lovely, with plenty of room for a large tea set. It is hallmarked on the back (see photo), and in lovely condition. It measures 23 1/2" long without handles, and 28" long including the handles, which tilt upward, by 16 1/2" wide.
