DESCRIPTION: Silver needle cases first appeared in China in the 1700's. Elaborate embroidery has a long tradition in China, and young girls began intensive training in needlework skills by age seven. Given the importance of embroidery in her life, a silver needle case was often presented to a girl as part of her dowry.

A small Chinese porcelain cup with Qingbai light blue-green crackle glaze and very thin form. The rim is ebbed like flower petals and the interior has been incised to look like the inside of a flower. Song Dynasty (960 - 1279) Size: 2.25" height, 3" width

This is Noshime used in a district for the Meiji period. This is woven with silk and cotton. The line of the part of the waist is drawn on this freely by hand. This has several places of changes of color of the aging, but does not stand out. This does not have damage. This is Kyougen clothes used in a local side. In the present age, this is not seen very much. Size 130cm x 131cm (51.1 "x 51.5")

Antique Chinese celadon ware vase or jar with a round, stout body, short neck with two hollow handles, raised lotus petal motif along the bottom. Slightly raised lotuses and sunflowers decorate around the upper body. Longquan celadons were an important part of China's export economy for over five-hundred years (960 - 1644). This fan has lovely paintings of water lilies on one side and daisys on the other. The paper shows wear on the edge of the folds and there is some paint loss on the bottom of the struts. Such wear is commensurate with age and use.

A nice pair of vintage late Victorian 5-1/4" cased yellow glass vases with fancy hand painted enamel birds and branches with leaves. This decorative matching pair is unsigned, and they are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs except the loss of the upper rim gilding and a shallow flake off the inside rim of one vase not affecting the outside view...

This is a finely carved Japanese Netsuke, made during the 1st Half of the 19th Century, depicting a Blind Oni reading a calligraphy long scroll with a girl. Well carved piece with character and some handling wear. Signed on the bottom Shoryu, a carver who worked during the 1st half of the 19th century, in Japan, according to George Lazarnick in his book 'Netsuke and Inro Artists and How to Read Their Signatures'. Netsuke measures 1.57 inches (4.0cm) wide, and 1.06 inches (2.7cm) tall.

DESCRIPTION: A Qing Dynasty Chinese scroll depicting a plethora of Chinese deities, each in colorful robes of blue, green, yellow and red, and each with an aurora around his head. The deities display different symbols or attributes that identify them to the knowledgeable follower. The artist’s inscription can be found between the two lower left figures...

this is a large antique hand-made pair of earrings of low grade silver, lots of filigree work...Though obviously not wearable for most Westerners, the make a wonderful ethnographic, tribal arts display.

A fine and very rare pair of monochrome rouleau shaped porcelain vases with apple green lustrous glaze; the base and interior are glazed white. There are old collector's labels to the base. These items were made in China, in the late 17th or early 18th Century, during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722). Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 13cm (5inches)high.
