Now wired as a lamp, this vase is glazed in variegated oxblood that has been applied to produce a flambe-like pattern against an even copper-red background. The interior, which is partly revealed at the mouth, drains to white. It is mounted to a traditional Chinese carved wood base and wired for electricity. It is in overall good condition with no repairs or restorations.

This is a beautiful and unique Japanese Cloisonne box.The artist could have be one of at several but it looks like a piece from Inaba,Honda or Shibata.
