Antique Chinese jade carving of a recumbent horse. Seated on it's haunches, it's hooves curved underneath it's body, the horse looks back over it's shoulder. Details of face, main and tail accent the pleasing arch of the horse's neck. Carved of yellow and brown mottled jade.

Jade pendant (Talisman) representing a tigress and her cub. (Or devouring a prey?) Usual wear for this period. No lack or restoration. Drilled with a hole between the front legs. Antique Japanese zenibako (money box) made from kiri (paulownia) wood with original dark lacquer finish. Rare and unusual for a zenibako to been this size as a Tansu. The interior is shelved behind two sliding doors with locks. Mid to Late Edo Period (circa 1800's). Size: 25" H x 29.75" L x 16" D

Kodansu in ivory in the shape of an elephant, resting on four feet, enriched by refined inlay applications in the sophisticated Shibayama technique. The upper opening, facilitated by a bronze grip, reveals its interior. It bears the signature, engraved on the side. Origin: Japan Period: Meiji end of 19th century. Dimensions: 6 x 26 x 4.2 cm. A fine and very rare bat-shaped porcelain censer with what are apparently bat head feet. We believe that there would originally have been a wood cover secured into the two outer holes and that the incense smoke would have escaped through the three central holes.

This item was made in China for the domestic market as a temple or home alter piece in the early 18th Century, probably during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722)...

Suzuribako in roiro lacquer decor of a setting sun behind the waves in red and gold lacquer. Inside a couple of gold lacquer cranes on a nashiji background. Edo period 19th century or before. Good condition, no repairs. Normal use wear for this period. Very interesting subject. Dimensions about 21x21 cm

This is an elegant pair of tall chine de blance vase. This is an authentic example from the Qijia culture, dating to 2100-1600 BCE, of a well-known type of ritual axe, known as a "Yue." It measures 4" in length and 3-3/8" at its widest point (10cm X 8.5cm). The surface has a beautiful, smooth polish; the "blade" has a beveled edge and has been sharpened, although it shows no signs of actual use. The large hole has been conically drilled. A lovely intact bronze buddha Shakyamuni, Northern Thailand, Chiang Saen period, c. 15th century AD.

Seated on a lotus base over an openwork plinth, his right hand lowered in bhumisparsa mudra, wearing a closely clinging sanghati with a sash draped across the left shoulder, his face with a benign expression flanked by long pendulous earlobes.
