Ca. 1500s - 1600s

This incense-burner was cast with Mongolian script encircling body and has two handles with lion masks. It is raised on a slightly flaring footring and a slightly convex base showing wear and an old original surface with a mottled brown patina. The Bombay form rises to end in a flattened rim displaying evidence of long, continued use. The grayish-bronze interior shows its use as an incense burner. An old crack is visible to the head of one handle.

This wine cup is decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with three yin yang symbols on the exterior and also one on the interior base. It is raised on a low unglazed footring showing the white paste. The base is glazed and has a hastily painted mark. The overall condition is very good, without chips or repairs. It was recovered from a shipwreck site in Southeast Asia. The glaze has taken on a matte finish from submersion in the ocean.

A well patinated 16th/17th Century bronze Gu form vase cast in archaic Shang dynasty style. This is from the collection of the late Reverend Victor Farmer. Fine annamese vietnamese blue and white charger, decorated with catfish drifting between water weeds, lotus scroll in the cavetto, diamond design border around the rim, petal lappets with hanging scroll on the exterior and unglazed base with thin iron brown wash. PERIODE : 15 th Century CONDITION : perfect, no chips, cracks, or hairlines and free from restorations. MEASURE : 36 cm diameter. 9 cm height.

The decoration of a Dragon is at all rare to find on Ming Dynasty Minyao blue and white pieces. Still much rarer to find is such a Dragon bowl in a large and perfect condition like it is this bowl. Ming Jiajing period ( 1522 - 1566 ) Diameter : 17,9 cm. Condition : Perfect - there is just some very minute glaze fritting to the rim, but this is without a magnifying glass nearly invisible and absolutely normal for pieces of that period.
