Skillfully carved out of chosen matsu (Korean pine wood) inmodified ittobori (one cut) style characteristic of Hida school of netsuke carvers with clever use of wood grain as element of design. Wonderful piece in Japanese taste (both aesthetic and culinary), superb quality carving of hard shell and soft animal tissue, beautiful patina. Length 1.44 inches.
