The green mottled beads are late Qing Dynasty Peking glass, the brown glass tapered tube bead emulating agate was probably made for the Funan or Chenla Kingdoms as I have agate beads from the same period which are pretty much identical, the white bead with orange splash is at least early Qing...

The entire surface of this box is covered with a Persian floral design executed in pure gold overlaid on steel. The interior is fitted with silk moire sections. The lid is hinged and has a lock but no key. The base is undecorated steel. There is an area on the lid that is rubbed and some of the gold is lost.

Five early paper dolls dressed in crepe paper dresses. When I bought them I was told they were made to hang on the Christmas tree and it is true some of the have thread hangers on the back. They are very nice and unusual. They range in size from 7 1/2" to about 10" and date to the 1880's.

A whimsical scene with the lady holding the "nose" of the octopus who in return is sneaking his tentacle up her kimono.
