Stunning Chinese antique carved marble head of Buddha. Massive in size and weight, this beautifully carved fragment is sure to make an impression. Detailed with soft features and down cast eyes. This Buddha conveys classical Chinese features, a rounded face and chin, full lips and graceful eyes nearly closed. The high detail on the snail-shell hair curls attest to its providence.

Chinese Export Porcelain Cafe Au Lait and Famille Rose overglaze decorated Tea Bowl, Ca. 1790, 2 7/8" diameter, 1 5/8" high, with Famille Rose Peony flowers inside 2 Maple Leaf shape Cartouches and Peaches, between Cafe Au Lait glaze on the outer side of the bowl. There are kiln imperfection spots, no damages.

Ensemble of very old beads, I found these in a small shop in Phrae, Northeast Thailand a few years ago. The green mottled beads are late Qing Dynasty Peking glass, the brown glass tapered tube bead emulating agate was probably made for the Funan or Chenla Kingdoms as I have agate beads from the same period which are pretty much identical, the white bead with orange splash is at least early Qing...

The entire surface of this box is covered with a Persian floral design executed in pure gold overlaid on steel. The interior is fitted with silk moire sections. The lid is hinged and has a lock but no key. The base is undecorated steel. There is an area on the lid that is rubbed and some of the gold is lost.

A very rare 18TH Century, QING DYNASTY IMPERIAL POWDER BLUE-ULTRAMARINE QING DYNASTY PORCELAIN BOWL with gold rim and a white interior. Excellent Condition, no chips, cracks, hairlines nor restorations! Provenance: form a Private German Antique Collection. Has black Calligraphy/Markings on the base,i.e. "DA QING YU SHAN FANG" translating to:"QING DYNASTY FOR IMPERIAL KITCHEN". Size: 11.2 cm. diameter x H. 5.5 cm.(1723-1735).
A beautiful painted scholar's box painted with scholar's objects and floral arrangements. Size: H. 11.8cm W. 31.5 x 17.2cm. Condition: Normal ageing. The hinges in the back most likely have been replaced.
Five early paper dolls dressed in crepe paper dresses. When I bought them I was told they were made to hang on the Christmas tree and it is true some of the have thread hangers on the back. They are very nice and unusual. They range in size from 7 1/2" to about 10" and date to the 1880's.

Provenance: a gentleman's collection, Geneva - Switzerland. Japanese hibachi, or brazier, made of an attractive wood exterior and inlaid with flowers and overlaid with gold macho-e lacquer. Remnants of ash on the interior add to its charm. Meiji Period (1868 - 1912). Original finish and condition.

Japanese antique okimono carved of boxwood in the form of a lovely lady standing with an octopus. A whimsical scene with the lady holding the "nose" of the octopus who in return is sneaking his tentacle up her kimono. Wonderful attention to detail can be seen in the weaving of the basket behind the two figures as well as in the suction cups of the tentacles and the fashionable Edo Period knot in the woman's long hair. Unsigned. Edo Period.

A late 19th "Yun" lacquered betel box with incised design of animals, elephant,snake,crab etc and dancer. The box is divided into three pieces. The bottom part for betel leaves and the top part for lime, areca nuts, clove and other ingredients. Size: H. 21cm. Diameter. 21cm. Condition: No repairs. Some minor age cracking which is normal with old lacquer.
Antique Japanese large woven ikebana basket, used for artistic flower arrangements. The basket body has an open flat plate with woven geometric design. Chiku'unsai is known for adding natural found objects as shown of gnarled bamboo handle. He allows us to see the beauty in this state. The wide, flat foot is signed on the bottom "Chiku'unsai"
