Japanese Meiji period rectangular form wood three-drawer tabako-bon smoker’s hibachi decorated in gold with the “three friends of the garden” (pine, prunus, and bamboo) on a black lacquered ground. A recessed square brazier with a domed metal pierced lid and a smaller rectangular lidded ash container are on top. Hinged metal carrying handle. Both the front and back have shaped pipe holders. Circa 1880 French bronze champleve enamel inkwell with delicately hand-painted bird scenes. It sits on 4 bun feet and is in excellent condition. All enameling is intact with the darkest red color being a beautiful clear wine red (which tends to look a darker/duller in our photos). This lovely inkwell measures 7 inches across and 3" high.

Rare and pretty Inro opening with four compartments and a lid in urushi lacquer with a black background decorated in hiramaki-e with gold lacquer, mitsuda, kirigane and mother-of-pearl inlays, of a traditional cottage above which a bird flies; on the other side, a set of objects including a large basket, branches and a cup. Height: 5.8 cm. Japan Edo (1603-1868) 17th century. Provenance: Maurice Feuillet collection. Label with inscription “Maurice Feuillet collection” and N°138

Beautiful Meiji Era ivory napkin ring with 2 scrimshawed monkey, one of which is chasing a fly. This piece would also make an excellent stand. Dates 3rd quarter 19th century and measures 1 7/8 inches across by 1 inch high. Guaranteed ivory.

Superb sterling silver powder box covered with beautiful floral repousse decoration. The design features a dense covering of daisies, chrysanthemums and roses surrounding a pair of rococo reserves framed with assymetrical scrolls. Neither of the reserves has ever been monogrammed. The decoration is really excellent and is of a quality that would rival the best of the repousse decorators. The interior retains the original gilding...

A blue and white Qing ceramic drum stool with Buddhist & Taoist symbols, coins, bats and flowers which are all good luck items. Size: H. 46cm. W. 35cm. Condition: No repairs. Some very minor chipping on the knobs.

This pair of earmuffs are kept together with a silk ribbon. Worn to protect the ears in winter, the outer side has delicate embroidered flower motif, and the inside is slightly padded and has ear pockets which slip of the ears.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Meissen in the late 19th century. It has first quality under glaze crossed swords markings. The saucer measures 4 1/2 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 1/4 inches tall without the handle. The cup has an empire style handle that is swan shaped. The ground color is lemon yellow. There is an elaborate gilded cartouche on the front of the cup containing a Watteau scene. An 18th century couple is sitting in a wooded landscape...

Very good Staffordshire figural group portraying a young man and woman in a garden. He holds a floral wreath while she holds a potted rosebush. The decorative painting is very nice, especially the facial details.

Origin, Staffordshire, England, ca. 1850. Condition: excellent; no chips or cracks, gilding intact. Size: 7" tall.

19th century jade ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) in simple ball shape. Beautiful off-white true nephrite jade, pleasant patina. Height 1/2 inches.

Large Chinese embroidered silk badge of a three toed dragon. The 3-toed dragon is the symbol of government ministers and public officials. This piece could have been from a wall hanging or off of a room screen. Color of badge is even; glare from the glass is making it look darker or lighter in areas. This badge measures 20.5" high and was placed on a cream colored closely cropped brushed velvet material, then framed. Framed measurements are: 26.5" wide x 33" high.

Offered is this rare antique bronze (painted black) clock, made by famous French clock-maker, Vincentie & Cie, around 1855. The clock is 26 inches (66 cm) tall (to the top of the hand-held shaft), 11 inches (28 cm) wide and 8 inches (20 cm) deep. The statue itself is 13 inches (33 cm) high. There is no key or pendulum. Overall, the clock is in good condition - the four screw-holders at the bottom are missing and there is a small part missing (see 5th picture)...

This pair of Famille Rose Mille Fleures (thousand flowers) demitasse are late Qing Dynasty products. The saucers are 4 3/4 inches in diameter and 1 inch high, the cups are 2 1/4 inches high and 2 1/8 inches wide. They depict a large pink peony in the center while chrysanthemum, lily, hibiscus, iris and several unknown flowers cover entire bodies. The cups have bamboo design handles. There are Guang Xu (1875~1908) marks and three separate floral (peony) designs on the bottoms...

This antique Chinese silk wall hanging is embroidered with mounted soldiers carrying banners across a mountainous terrain. Silk background fabric with a wide silk border, the tapestry is approx 60 inches tall and 28 inches wide. The fabric is in very good condition. This tapestry conservatively dates to the mid 1800's. While the detail of the embroidery is clearly visible, some of the embroidered threads are abraided and worn, which is typical of a textile of this technique and age.
